BIRTHDAY CAKE

It doesn't have to be food. My husband asked me what kind of cake I wanted and we just realized that I can't have cake and was wondering what others do in place of cake.

The special treat for your birthday can be getting to your goal weight as quickly as possible! Of course, it won't arrive on your birthday, but it will be worth the wait and forgoing of cake if you stick strictly to your plan. In the meantime, Gwen had a great suggestion for replacing cake with a pedicure or something else you enjoy that isnt food related.

I agree I will be so happy once I hit my goal. Not having cake isn't that big of a deal to me. Just having to break the habit. Cake and ice cream on your birthday is how we have always done it. Just looking for a change now that I can't do that.

I get it. It's how we all have done it. That's why I think Gwens suggestion is a good one. Break the food related celebrations habit now when you are early out. There will never be a time when your motivation is higher, hunger is lower, and capacity is smaller. These are the moment when the good, long lasting habits are formed!

Good luck and happy birthday in a couple of weeks!

I bought a mini seedless watermelon, cut it into a cake shape, topped it with sugar free cool whip, decorated it with strawberries, and it was a perfect birthday cake. There was enough in the small watermelon to serve 5-6 people, and everyone loved it. I really loved it too.

Someone who is good at decorating could do a much better job than I did, but here's mine.

Maybe staying away from Foods especially sweets is better than experimenting with different types of sugar. Not sure if you dum*****t but you might not want to risk it especially on your birthday.

Treat yourself to something non food related instead like shopping or a spa treatment.
