What's on your Menu today (Tuesday) RNYers?
Good morning! I walked to the lab as part of my commute to work, for blood work for the 6 month appointment coming up, and they took quite the draw this time. I don't usually react in any way to normal blood work, but I had to stick around and drink a bit of liquid this morning. Turned white, clammy, dizzy etc, put my head between my knees and waited outside for a while (it had stopped raining) before I continued my walk to work. The fresh air brought me back to center pretty quickly and I've been fine since, but I was cold for most of the morning, also weird. Fine now though. I got to work and had my protein shake.
QOTD: I'm still at that stage where I'm never hungry or have any particular cravings, stomach never growls (ever, which I still think is so bizarre), so I never eat first thing. Still setting timers on my phone to remind me it's time to take something in. I take any vitamins or meds required, but wait til I'm at work to have anything. This saves me time in the house, and minimizes the noise I make rummaging around like a raccoon while my wife and kids sleep.
Menu: B: Protein shake
MS: 1/2 cup cottage cheese, 1.5 oz blueberries
L: leftover salmon pieces, veggies from supper last night
AS: 1/2 cup ff greek yogurt, 1.5 oz blueberries
S: Not sure, likely chicken
ES: decaf coffee, unsure about anything else.
All vitamins, water, and such. Water's been easier as of late; I'm finally not feeling like I'm "forcing" it in. Just voluntary routine now.

Remember, no matter where you go.......there you are.
Good morning! It's dreary and stormy here, but I love storms so I'm fine with that, and my area needs the rain. Feeling really run down again, thinking it's actually allergies, though it's a bit early for my fall allergies to start kicking me in the butt.
Accountability: for dinner last night I ended up making a homemade honey-lemon dressing for my salad with shrimp. It was wonderful and will probably make it again, but the honey in the dressing added calories and sugar I hadn't originally planned.
QotD: I'm usually not hungry right away, so I often pack something to eat at work around 9:30-10. Coffee til then. On the weekends I try to sleep in ****il my cat wakes me up) and then enjoy making a light breakfast/brunch for DH and myself around 10-11.
breakfast: Greek L&F Pumpkin Pie yogurt (I'm one of those PUMPKIN SPICE EVERYTHING! People)
lunch: the rest of my yummy shrimp salad with honey lemon dressing. (About 2 oz of shrimp in the serving)
dinner: pork tenderloin if it's thawed (put it in the fridge to thaw last night so it's iffy). Tonight we are going to a pub for a poetry reading by my favorite college professor. I rarely drag DH to things I know aren't his thing, but I don't have anyone else I can think of that would enjoy a poetry reading to take, so he's the default, haha! If pork is still frozen, we may share something at the pub.

I get mine at Hy-Vee, which is more regional, so depending where you are you may not have that store. I haven't seen it anywhere else yet, but it's early days for pumpkin spice ;) there is also an apple pie one, which is fantastic
Morning!! I'm able to post again today from work! I check in here every single day. So much support and ideas! So thank you all for that!!
QOTD: I was never one for breakfast. I have tea/shakes now, but I feel if I had nothing I'd be good till lunchtime. I tend to have a snack around 10-Greek yogurt. But if I never had anything? I'd be ok. My evenings/nights are when I want to go all out!! Before surgery I could go all day with nothing, but once I got home or after work? WATCH OUT!! I could pack it all in and then some!! :)
Accountability: I'm struggling. Story of my life lately. But I'm still trying. Yesterday I went off the rails with a protein bar and some sour ju jubes. (about 10) When I got home from work I had the worst feeling in the world. I was shaky and feeling so weak. Haven't had something like that. so I ate a protein bar to see if that would help. It didn't. I ended up lying down for 40 mins till it passed. Terrible feeling. I'm betting it was the GD ju jubes. Devils.
I'm 2.5years out from RNY. Crazy how fast time is going! and I'm 4 weeks away from a panni. EEK. Terrified about it. Am I making the right decision? Should I wait till I can afford to upgrade to a full Tummy Tuck. Wait till I get 30 more pounds off. So many emotions!!!
Menu today:
Breakfast: Tea with Miralax/Premier protein
Snack: Skyr greek yogurt with added protein powder and ground flax seed.
Lunch: 2 Costco chicken skewers with some guac on the side
Snack: Protein shake-if needed. (will be around 3/3:30 on my way to the gym)
Supper: going out. I got to pick the place so we are going to Joey's Urban. (Fish tacos!!) I figure it was the best choice given the company I'm going with. I'll buy 2, eat one there and have one for lunch tomorrow. No fries.
Exercise: Pilates and Bootcamp tonight before supper. I had planned to do a quick 5km this morning on the treadmill but my bed was just too comfy.
Vitamins: (multi, B12, Biotin) also looking at getting some magnesium based on yesterday's thread. I am having and have been having bathroom issues since surgery, so if that will help I'm willing to try!!
Thanks and have a fantastic day!!!

Skin removal surgery is exciting! Decisions on plastic surgery are so hard. Sort of like heading into Bariatric Surgery- the great unknown on the other side. Will I be happy? What will it be like? My only thought to ponder is you are only doing this once. Do what you think will work for you. Have the surgeon show you pictures of women who look like you who had each surgery. I don't know technically what the difference is in term s of the actual skin removal. I know with the tummy tuck they will tighten your muscles. Good luck with your decision!
I ran out and bought the magnesium after yesterday's discussion...

Good morning menu peeps! Question: who's using the vitamin patches and what are your thoughts on them? I've been using them for probably 6 months now and I love them but I've had a couple doctors turn their noses up to them or try to lecture me about which vitamins are lipid soluble etc etc.. My blood work always comes back fine though so should I worry or just brush off their weird attitude toward patches? Just wondering what everyone else's experience is.
Getting super frustrated.. I've been working so hard to not give in to temptation and I've been tracking and eating protein forward and the scale is STILL doing this back and forth thing. I'm up almost 5 pounds from when I was able to get the scale down the lowest thus far. It's making it hard to stay on track and not just give in. Yesterday was not a great day. It wasn't catastrophic but I did eat a slice of what I'm calling "spite towards the scale" cake lol. I know that choice won't help me move the numbers down :( IS ANYONE ELSE HAVING THIS STUCK IN PLACE STRUGGLE RIGHT NOW? I feel awkwardly alone for some reason and it suuuuuucks lol
accountability: been trying so hard.... buuuut see above the dirty truth about yesterday haha
QOTD: I'm almost never hungry for solid food in the morning. I always want my shake though. Hunger sets in around 11-1pm and then I snack on lunch when I can at work. My biggest struggle is nighttime. I always get that peckish grazing thing that's so hard to shake.

Good Morning! I am sorry you're struggling. I have been there and know how it feels. My struggles are different now that I am in maintenance and trying to understand/learn what normal weight fluctuations are. I never weighed myself pre-op regularly so I had no idea that it fluctuates so much. I know that doesn't help you but wanted to share my experience at least. You are doing awesome, and maybe you need a break from the scale?
I was just thinking a break sounded really good! My only concern is that I will sway even more with my poor choices if I'm not weighing myself regularly. It's so scary to me. I'm getting farther and farther out of my window of opportunity to get this darn weight off and it scares the heck out of me. I'm almost in panic mode at this point and I'm sure that's not helping (especially since stress has always been a huge trigger for me)... ahhh! I don't like this feeling! It stinks and I feel like I'm in weight loss quicksand haha.
