EATING TOO FAST

Yesterday I got rapped up in talking while eating and wasn't waiting the 5 minutes between each bite and I got the most uncomfortable pain in my chest. I knew what it was and stopped eating right then and got up and walked to the restroom in case I got sick. Today I feel very sore, don't want to eat anything and when I drink my stomach feels uneasy. I talked to the doctor and NUT about what happens if I happen to eat too fast or to much when I was given the ok to start eating again so I knew how to handle it. I'm wondering if anyone has done this and if they felt sore after.

I have not called the doctor because it is not pain at all. Just some discomfort.

SO after something like that would happen to me, I would just take it easy on the pouch. Go all liquids, and very soft things like yogurt and cottage cheese. If it doesn't feel better tomorrow, or it gets worse, call your doc.

But this is pretty common as you start out eating more solid things. If you ever can't drink, call the doc right away.

Thank you. I will call tomorrow if I'm not feeling any better.

I'm 3.5 years out and I still have times where I eat too fast, don't chew well enough, or my small tummy just does NOT LIKE what I put into it. I usually have to throw up to feel better. It happened just tonight actually - I ate broccoli 3 hours ago and felt bad after and it never got better till I just evacuated it. It's not a habit or anything and happens once every few months or so, but it's annoying. Just be careful and know that it is pretty normal.

Thanks. I feel better today and its nice to know that you are years out and sometimes have the same problem. I know right now is my time to break habits and I have been paying close attention to everything I'm doing, but just got lost in conversation the other day. I just went home and went to bed. I just made me feel bad all over. Glad to know that it is normal to feel this way.

I'm a year and a half out and eating fast is still what plagues me from time to time. If I'm really hungry, or am in a "rushed" situation I find myself eating to fast, and then.......PAIN. The only relief is to get rid of it. The good news is that this purge most often comes with immediate relief.

I've never had it linger into the next day however, but everyone is different.

Before I had my revision last week, I was 13 years out, and still could get some foods caught, usually chicken. I would have to purge to be able to continue eating. So yeah, it is pretty normal.

I get up and walk around.. that really helps me.

I drink a lot of water...a lot. And sometimes at the gym I drink too much as once. I usually have to go outside and vomi****er and I feel better. It makes me laugh to think my stomach is too small it can't hold water.

Yea it is crazy. I am staying thirsty all the time and I go to chug some water then I get this bad feeling and remember I can't do that I am real bad about that. I have not vomited from it.
