What's on your Menu today (Monday) RNYers?
Hey yall- busy weekend- sat ran up and looked at some potential homes to buy. We plan on putting house on market very soon like within the next month and downsize to a house that is paid for.
QOTD: I have a few 'go to's' like gizards, HB egg whites, COFFEE, stay away from cheese usually, yogurt, tuna, veggies. I feel it keeps me in line. BUT I like bringing in new foods also. Last night I made burrito for DH. they were turkey and cheese with red sauce and fresh tom from garden. there was a side of re fried beans but they were made with garbanzo beans and that southwestern hummus dip sauce instead. topped with cheese. I will say they were the bomb and even DH said, I like these better than XXX where we go. I told him they were not traditional refried beans.
plan for today:
leftover grill chicken
spag squash from garden-I only grew 2.
sautee spinach
veg hash
prob protein pancakes
yogurt
E: kundalini yoga and beginner yoga tonight- yep two back to back- first is only 30 min.
So happy to be back but my month is over this month so need to decide what to do...
My fingers and toes crossed that my husband gets a call with a job offer this week. He's got another interview lined up for Wednesday. I don't think he'd enjoy the job as much, but this one is in town. But he really wants the one that's 45 miles away that he interviewed for last week. We drove there this weekend and the drive wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but then, I'm not doing it every day. Still, for a job you think you're going to love, it may be worth it. Better than taking something close to home that you're iffy about. There's nothing worse than an ill-fitting job - or one you don't like (not that he wouldn't like the one he's interviewing for this week - I'm just talking in generalities...). Anyway, here's hoping...
Accountability. Yesterday was not a good day. The only thing I really went off my plan for was a small bag of unbuttered popcorn at the movies (which I got for free because I signed up for their movie rewards program). But I ate way more Chinese food than I planned for at the birthday party. We didn't order - the host's family did - and they kept bringing out platters and platters of food. None of it was particularly bad - nothing fried - all meats with veggies or just veggies - and I didn't eat any rice - but still, I was shocked at how much food I was able to pack away. Up three pounds this morning - but that's mostly water. Should be gone within a couple of days. But I feel like hell. Thank God this should be a low-key week with no eating out until next weekend - it should be easier to control myself.
QOTD: I eat the same breakfast every day. Lunches vary somewhat, but not a lot. I do try to vary dinners to keep things interesting. I need a variety of foods (and interesting food) to keep myself from straying.
2 years 2 months out
B: homemade Greek yogurt, fresh blueberries
S: coffee with half & half, protein shake
L: 1 C tuna/chickpea salad, plum
D: I'm thinking beef stew and a salad
another yogurt or protein shake if I can afford the calories (and I will stay within my range today!!)
exercise: yoga
Fingers crossed for your husband that he gets the job that he wants.

Best of luck for DH! I commuted 50 miles each way for years for a job I enjoyed and it was definitely worth it.

The start to a new week menu Friends. Lily and I have our 3.6 miles in already and will do another mile this evening. QOTD My breakfasts and lunches are pretty much the same things over and over with more variety at dinner time and I don't mind it at all. I will say I do enjoy when we eat out and usually get something I would never make at home. Accountability yesterday-no extra bites but I had deli ham and cheese and 1/2 c of fresh corn straight off the cob for supper. Cooked steaks but they didn't sound good by the time I was done. Hubby and son enjoyed them though. I don't usually do corn but this was fresh and worth the carbs. Here's the food plan for maintenance today B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz deli turkey and cheese 1/2 diced tomato D 1/2 c Manwich other half fresh tomato. We are garden sitting for neighbors and have yummy fresh cucumbers, peppers and tomatoes for us and for the food pantry too. Fresh produce is always a hit up there. Have a great day everyone and make some smart and conscious choices that move you one step closer to your goals! You've got this.
Good morning :)
Today is my first interview. It has been years since I've done one so I'm a bit nervous. It's an admin role at some kind of fitness centre so I think that would actually be kind of awesome for me. After that I have a bunch of errands to run. We had a complete lazy day yesterday and I didn't even get groceries.
QOTD: this made me laugh because as my mom loves to remind me, I ate exactly the same thing for lunch everyday of high school (four years) -- a bologna sandwich on white bread with miracle whip. Hello weight issues. Every once in a while I like something new, but I'm also happy to have my favourites.
Breakfast - protein shake
Snack - turkey sausage
Lunch - taco beef
Snack - pepperette and cheese stick
Dinner - hopefully cheeseburgers (we didn't make them last night)
Snack - protein shake
All water and vits.
