What's on your Sunday Menu RNYers
Good morning!
My in-laws took DH and I out to dinner for a belated birthday get-together, and that was fine. I ordered an 8 oz sirloin and shrimp skewer, salad, and seasonal veggies (broccoli), shared the protein with DH. What kind of upset me though was before we headed to the restaurant, his parents showed up with THREE Nothing Bundt Cakes bundts. They were the small ones but not the smallest ones. I don't know the cute names they have for them. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE their cakes, but they know DH can't/won't eat them at 3 months post-op, and I'm pre-op, and trying to cut the crap. I felt like it was sabotage, of some kind, but I know they were only trying to give me a birthday treat, and don't "get" how we eat now. So for accountability, I did eat half of one (white chocolate raspberry), because my willpower failed me, and I'll likely eat the second half tonight. But the chocolate one went to my next door neighbor, and elderly man who lives alone, and the red velvet is going to a friend who just moved into a new home. I'm calling it a housewarming gift.
QotD: We bought tickets to Oceans of Fun waterpark on Groupon, and didn't use them last weekend because of weather, so we definitely want to drive back down for a day to use them before they expire. We haven't done much swimming this summer, mostly because DH had his surgery in May, and had a hernia repair at the same time, so his recovery was longer than normal. We both love swimming.
today:
Breakfast: coffee and a banana dipped in PB. I bought a single banana because I've been having leg cramps at night
Lunch: there's some leftover chicken breast in the fridge I'll have
dinner: salmon and lobster pinwheels, maybe zuchinni. Other half of the bundt cake for dessert.
No snacks planned. Housework and if it stops raining, I'll go pull weeds too.

QOTD: I can't believe summer's almost over and another school year is about to begin - but because I can retire at any time with full benefits, I don't mind it as much anymore. I'm looking at it more as my choice to work now, rather than a necessity (although I need to wait until DH gets a job with health insurance. He's nine years younger than me and will need health insurance for a few more years - but we have good feelings about the job he interviewed for last week - fingers crossed that he gets it! Then I really can consider retiring - or at least dropping down to half time. But I'll likely stay put for another year or two as I'm not sure I'm quite ready yet - but it's nice to know I *can* if I want to!!). No big plans to pack anything else in this summer since it's already been pretty eventful!
not sure what's on the food agenda today as I'm meeting a friend in a few minutes for a movie (may scarf a protein bar while en route), and then DH and I are attending an 80th birthday party at a Chinese restaurant for dinner. I'll get the usual - something with (non-fried) meat & veggies, eat about a cup of it, and skip the rice. It was an OK day yesterday calorie-wise.

Howdy,
So decided to run around and go food shopping.See what products that are out there to help me get to goal. I found two. Powdered peanut butter 90% ff. 45 calories a service for 2 tb and 6 grams of protein. I think I would like to make chicken sate with it one of these nights. Also experimented with FF yogurt and added a 1/4 cup of pumpkin, pumpkin spice, some splenda, cinnamon, clove, mixed it all up and put in the freezer. A 4 ounce serving is 85 calories, 12 grams of protein, 5 grams of sugar and 7 carb grams which is almost all from the ff greek yogurt. Lets see how it turns out. Very excited!!
QOTD: I would like to actually go swimming. Headed out to CA San Diego this week and looking forward to pool and jacuzzi since my bullet holes are almost completely healed.
Food for the day:

Hi everyone,
Late post again but I'm here and that's the most import thing!
Did a lot of cooking on the grill today then had to rush over to a friends house because they had a grease fire on their grill. They didn't have baking soda on hand to throw on the fire so they dumped salt on it to snuff it out. I helped them get it all cleaned out and back up and running. Unfortunately the salmon was a goner! LOL!
QOTD: I want to be able to lose enough weight to get on my bicycle and do some biking before it gets too cold. I'm also thinking of putting on a BBQ and cookout for the company I work for.
B: 2 eggs, 1 1/2oz hot Italian sausage, slice of cheese
L: 3oz turkey
S: no snack today
D: 4oz grilled pork tenderloin, 2 forkfuls of broccoli rabe
S: ostrim meat stick
