Is it normal to be so weak? when does your hair start falling out?
I am so weak. Is this normal? This is day 17 post surgery and still on liquid diet till day 21.. Having a hard time with too sweet protein shakes..and 6 small meals i'm suppose to eat...then i'm suppose to drink 64ozs. of water a day but not drink water 30 mins before and 30mins. after meals...my poor pouch gets a break!
Also when does your hair start falling out?
HW 233...CW 203 surgery date 7-24-17
It took a few weeks for me to get my energy back, so 17 days seems pretty normal to me. You aren't getting many calories and your body is still recovering from the surgery. Just rest all that you can and be gentle with yourself.
As for your hair, not everyone loses their hair and it usually is several months after surgery.

I was in the hospital for three nights, took two long naps per day for two-three weeks, and started solid food at about two weeks. Weak and wimpy worked in my favor for it kept me home concentrating on following guidelines, healing quietly, developing a strict routine, and the most important of all---staying close to a bathroom. To answer your questions: 1) yes, feeling weak at 17 days after a major surgery seems normal 2) suggest you call your medical team to see if they may agree it would be okay to WORK UP TO instead of START OUT with six meals--by cutting back to, let's say, four meals, the water requirement would then be easier to obtain until you are feeling stronger. Water is more important than food right now. 3) I was told hair starts thinning at three months; it did just that right on cue.
I promise it gets better. My surgery was 5-25-17 and the first 6 weeks were the worst. Remember that right now your body is still majorly in recovery mode from the surgery. Plus, right now is when your new stomach is the most sensitive, and the new pouch is the tightest. But your body will adjust, and so will you, as time passes.
I felt weak for a few months post op. As long as I got my protein and water in, my surgeon didn't care if I only drank protein shakes and totally ignored food.
My hair started shedding at around the 4 month point, then really increased to handfuls of hair lost at 5 months. Every time I brushed my hair, I had to clean out my brush. Now at 6 months it seems to be slowing down a wee bit, although I have no idea how I have any hair left at all, lol. I chopped several inches off last week because i was sick of finding super long hair everywhere. Now it's shoulder length and looks much thicker. Not everyone loses hair, but I certainly did. No bald spots, thank Goodness, but I'd say I lost at least half of my hair volume.
