I'm back and tired.

I soooo understand the post-surgery desire to feel "normal." Boy have I had a crapton of surgeries in the last 6 years. And I am right there with you and saying prayers for ya! Just one tiny thing you might want to look at?

nothin' so annoying as a pre-surg noob with WLS advice Bear with me here...sigh...

I just had my first meeting with my RD and we talked pretty extensively about vitamins. Here's her take on it and then my take...she said, "The best vitamins to take, are the ones you take faithfully--everyday. Rain or shine. World without end. Amen." That was in reference to multis such as Centrum Chewables or like the expensive bariatric blended vitamins. She said she had a bias for the bariatric vits because the formulation was engineered to our post-surg needs, but that adult chewables were fine. She did say that Flintstone's were not sufficient for our needs in her opinion.

I think just for 3 months after surgery, I'm gonna go ahead and fork out the uber expensive powdered 3-in-1 multi blend that gives us all of our multi needs and about 2/3rds of our calcium needs, plus some soluble fiber made by Celebrate Vitamins (I hope it's ok to post this link moderators? If not, apologies!). It mixes in water and is like drinking a sugar free Tang? She was really gung-hoe about that one because she said it is so well absorbed--especially right after surgery. Then I will just buy some of the Calcium Citrate Chews.

Just my 2 cents. Feel free to discard it for what it's worth! Thanks for letting me offer an opinion! ((hugs)) and continue to get stronger soon!!!
