Not necessarily [Blocked from the daily menu thread...]
EDITED: As the thread can be started by anyone, "The Menu Thread" has no owner to block me. This means that I've been blocked not from the thread, just from reading and posting to Daisy's threads. Obviously it is pretty important that as an individual, we can block anyone we don't want reading or responding to our posts. It would have been nice if I'd figured this out prior to posting my woe is me response...
Now it's just awkward
Original post below:
It appears that I've been blocked from the daily menu thread.
This makes me sad, but I guess my "post all" the good, the bad, the ugly but also the forbidden must have been determined to be a threat to other newbs who might read my menu and think it's just fine to drink alcohol. There is a thin line between being a horrible warning and looking like a care free rebel without a cause.
I'm torn because I feel like if I'm making a bad choice, I should still be transparent about it. At the same time I would HATE to be the one who let another think it's just fine to take crazy risks with their health.
Anyway, this makes me sad, and I'm hurt, because I have learned boat loads from all of you. I'm sad to miss out on the daily menus, and the little updates, and keeping track of dog walks, vacations, and the day to day struggles all of you face and overcome.
Eat well, live well, and enjoy every single win!

Ah Duffman, that's a kind offer but this is not your sword to fall on ;-)
I can see all the previous threads, today's thread doesn't show up in the RNY forum list, and when I found it on a side panel, clicking on it produced a message saying that I have been blocked.
I haven't been told why, but I'm guessing it's because I'm public about my mistakes and I'm public about making some dangerous choices (red wine... it's a pretty big deal to me). I do not want to be the cause of an other's downfall, and while I can't imagine I have that much influence, I'm sure some think it's not worth the risk.
I greatly appreciate your kind words but I generally bring these kinds of things on myself.

Maybe it was a mistake? I'd contact the admin and ask about it. I don't think they'd just block you and not give a reason or warning.
Good luck.

Hi Kathy
(I biked to work today!)
I submitted a form to find out in case it was a mistake.
Yeah, I kept thinking I would find a warning in my inbox, or an explanation at least...

Is that even a thing? I've never heard of anyone being banned for the menu thread. I am confused and not cool with that. I am hopeful it is just a misunderstanding or technical issue. Being able to hear one another, even when we disagree, is vital to any potential usefulness this online forum might have.
If we condemn anyone who does things differently or ban people for differences...what does that look like? Ban anyone who has different views on: alcohol, carbs, sugar, how often to weigh, to DEXA scan or not, how many labs to draw and how often, what is maintenance, or how to manage pooping issues...we would each need our own personal menu thread with a membership of one. No one else could join any of us and offer support and encouragement because we all disagree on at least one of these points.
I truly hope that is not what happened. I am with you Sister. If the menu post has a ban hammer, I'm not willing to participate with that.

"I am basically food's creepy ex-girlfriend. I know we can't be together anymore but I just want to spend time hanging out" ~me, about why I love cooking so much post WLS
I was playing around looking at what is available and it could be that I was blocked by the poster, as the thread doesn't have an actual owner (anyone can start it).
Awkward.
