Wow 120oz seems impossible right now. How often are you drinking and how much at one time.

I'm 5 years out, you are only 12 days, so you can't compare how fast we each drink. It will get easier for you, a little more each day. Just have a drink next to you all day long. It takes effort at this stage, but it's the only thing that will make you feel better.

We should get at minimum 64 ounces of fluids a day. Personally I I feel best and have fewer bathroom issues if I get at least 100 ounces a day. 35 ounces will definitely cause nausea due to dehydration. Early out I lived on hot herbal tea. My pouch seemed to like warm beverages better. If you can get those numbers up,I promise you will feel so much better.

I am a little over a week out from surgery. I am keeping nausea even with the nausea medication. I have noticed if I'm drinking something heavy like the protein drinks or milk I don't have as much nausea. I can start eating soft food until 08-10-2017. It's hard to tell if I'm hungry or not just wondering if that s why I feel better for a little bit when I drink something heavy.

drink everything. Milk and creamy things helping the nausea suggests it may be acid. Creamy things help acid reflux symptoms. Are you taking Nexium or something like that?

drink broth, eat popsicles, drink hot tea. Drink milk and protein shakes constantly. You can get more than 35 oz in at six days out. You just have to drink constantly.

I am no expert as I am only 3 1/2 weeks post op myself. I find peppermint helps. I add a drop of food grade essential oil (doterra brand) to warm water, or use a tea bag. You can also crush some ginger add ho****er and strain.

I hope... NO I know this will pass!!! It seems overwhelming now but you will be ok. Just try to sip, sip, sip as much as you can. Everyone is different and you are getting there. I struggle some days to have my 6-8 glasses of water in additon to the protein.

You got this.

Thank you everyone. The nausea is not getting any better it is getting worse. I have gotten my fluid intake up to 48oz and I feel like I'm going to die from that. I know I'm not just don't understand where all of the nausea is coming from. I have stuck to the guidelines (besides the fluid) and feel great when I do have the nausea. I go to the doctor this afternoon I can't wait to see what they have to say about all of this. I will update this evening.
