What's on your Saturday menu RNYers?
56 hours post op and doing well:
--got three good walks in and some out of the house errands--tea shop, essential oils (I used to laugh at this stuff but the nurses at the hospital convinced me:
Liquids: 36 ounces so far...each time its getting a bit easier--lots of gurgling, though
Protein: 5.5 ounces of protein drink
Meds: On plan--weening of heavy pain pills to Tylenol
Rest: getting good rest.
Breathing exercises: Going well
Walks: three good ones--speed's not good but building back strength.
Wound care: everything healing well, kind of looks like I was in a knife fight with a very tidy thug.
Surprised at how quickly pain is subsiding, getting better.
Tips: essential oils--ginger relieves nausea better than those meds (can't believe I'm saying that!)

My wife is a vegetarian and my parents could never really understand. They were having spaghetti with Italian sausage. My father said "it's not meat..it just makes it taste good". The sad thing was he was dead serious. Wasn't a big hunk of meat so it was flavoring. One Christmas she had jello and rolls for dinner! Still makes me laugh. No one comments on what I eat.
Today: Wendy's chili and cheese since we were out.Roast beef with mustard, nuked swiss cheese slice, Greek yogurt with the best peaches. I'm looking forward to that meal.
