Hi,

Congrats on your surgery, but so sorry you're struggling.

Bipolar disorder is such a difficult illness to cope with. It's great that you're seeing your doctor to let him or her know how you're feeling; it could be that you need your meds adjusted. Even if hormone dumping is the cause, it's still may require a med adjustment. You don't want it triggering a hypomanic or depressive episode, or full blown mania. Not fun, I know. Hang in. Sending you hugs.

HI,

Sorry you are struggling. I have several autoimmune disorders coupled with anxiety disorder. My surgeon called the pharmacy about all my meds and was given misinformation. I called my rheumatologist who prescribes me temazepam, cymbalta and plaquenil. Turns out the only way you can take cymbalta recommended by the manufacturer is to put it in applesauce. The temazepam now makes me feel horrible when I take it to help me sleep. Also turns out I was not supposed to crush my plaquenil so my doc pulled me off of it for a month . It is a rheumatic drug. THe meds go through your body at a different rate plus you have malabsorption. You may want to make sure that you are taking your meds properly as recommended by the manufacturers.

Another thing to think about is if you've lost a lot of weight some of your medications maybe stronger now. I know the medication that I use for my psoriasis has to be a double mg dose because I am heavy. Your psychiatrist may need to adjust your medications to your new weight.
