Just got back from the vet's with Mia. She has been calm since that awful episode last night, has no fever, used the litterbox without complaint this morning, is no longer passing blood, and is interested in her food. So those are all good signs. The vet thinks she has a UTI and prescribed her a liquid antibiotic. Luckily she only needs 1 ml. once a day so I have a chance of actually getting it into her - by the time she realizes what I'm doing it's over. At least I hope so, fingers crossed!
I love my vet - he is skilled, gifted, and has such a fine rapport with the animals. When you first walk into the place, there is an enormous wrought iron bird cage, home to a beautiful, talkative bright green parrot. When I arrived with Mia, she was meowing very loudly and insistently. Walter, the parrot, immediately began meowing back to her, almost as loudly! This went on for a good 15 minutes, cracking me up.
Here is a photo of my two Siamese girls. Kai is on your left, and Mia is on your right. They are wonderful cats!
Glad to hear that she is feeling a bit better.
HW: 248+, SW (RNY: 2/28/17): 244, GW (10/17): 125; LW: 115; 45# regain (19-20); CW: 135.6; new goal: 135; Plastics: Ext mastopexy, Ext abdominoplasty-5/18/2018; diagnosed w/ gastroparesis 11/20.
I'm glad Mia is feeling better. Both of your cats are beautiful. I have a real soft spot for Siamese cats. My first cat, smudge, had a Siamese mother and a traveling salesman father (as my mother said) smudge was a dark calico with a Siamese personality. My neighbors had two Siamese cats... Max and Madeline. I played with them all the time...Madeline was very crazy. Can't wait to get a pair of cats ... Waiting until my balance is better.

Thank you Nance! My first two Siamese were like your Smudge, with a purebred bluepoint mother and a "traveling salesman" rather (ha! Love that!). One looked like a sealpoint except for tiny white mittens, while her sister Crescent looked like a lilac point with a couple of interesting, dreamy-colored markings. One of my Godsons, at age four, pointed at her once and stated, authoritatively, "Cressy has a painting on her!" (his mom is an artist). Smudge sounds like she was a wonderful cat, and i love her name! Reminds me of a friend's little white dog, named Typo (a reference to White Out).
I have always had two females from the same litter. I think that all animals do better with a close buddy of their own kind, rather than relying exclusively upon humans for company. Please let us know when you get your new kitties!
