What's on your menu today (Wednesday) RNYers?
Great job! and go out and get new pants. I could make tops and dresses last longer...but I hated baggy pants and ill-fitting bras. I would rather have just 2 that worked and keep washing them than baggy.
Try on new pants!

QOTD: I buy underwear and swimsuits new, always. I've gotten a few pairs of leggings at crazy sales at Kohl's, but most of my stuff I still get at secondhand stores. I shop at Goodwill and St Vincent de Paul occasionally, but we have some higher-end secondhand stores that have some really great stuff.....I get most of my clothes there.
Meeting some friends for lunch at a Japanese place. They have miso black cod (with bok choy) that's to die for. Macros on that are OK, too - so that's what I'll get!

hi all
I'm not sure I really need to answer the QOTD: I pretty much buy almost all my clothing from thrift, but if I spot a good deal, it is on. Sometimes I buy from kohls, macys, old navy, gap. I generally buy high end clothes as they tend to be made better. If it is just a t shirt I don't mind getting a cheapie as I know they are not meant to last nine zillion years. I can't think of a time recently where I have paid full price for anything it is just in my DNA. My favorite example is that I would always go to the flea market with my grandmother growing up on the weekends. We used to get into her mercedes diesel and drive down there and she would talk people down from a quarter to a dime for tupperware. it was funny. I learned from the best. oh sometimes we would get a table there to sell our crap we didn't want and I would go to a table a row over, get a barbie for a dollar and turn around and sell it for 8 right after.

Morning... Happy HUMP Day!
QOTD: I'm a Goodwill junkie. Seriously, I find about 80% of my stuff there now, and even though I am at my weight and at my goal size, I still can't stop shopping there... I do seem to have more luck than others, but I get a ton of compliments on things I find there. If I'm not shopping there, I am at this little boutique in our little town Mirror Mirror Boutique. The lady that owns it is in her 40's and I love her styles that she buys for her little shop. I also hit a few of the other little boutiques (and resale shops) around town. I'm always on the clearance racks though, and RARELY will I buy something full price. OK, so I also hit the local Ross and TJ Maxx too, but not nearly as often anymore
I've stopped shopping at most of the big box places... but that's just what is happening with me in general. I'm kinda over the whole 'big box' experience with everything, and don't like to eat or shop at them anymore (except for the 'G' - Goodwill).
Accountability: I did really well yesterday! Feeling better, and coming down off my freak out this Saturday. On plan is a good place to be.
Weight this morning 137.4 over a year out, but deciding that 5 more pounds would be good to shoot for. I'm really worried about regain, as now one of my friends that had RNY 5 months before me is starting to gain weight... she's a workout junkie (seriously works out several times a day on her days off, and has started teaching 'mash-up' and Zumba classes), but she's allowed things like bread and sweets back into her life - and smoothies! Smoothies always sound so healthy, but honestly, I think they are a gateway to crap foods. What that tells me is that all the working out in the world won't keep the weight off, and I have to keep my diet under control for the long haul. So 5 more pounds it is! My new goal weight is 133, with 135 being my top number. Now to get there... sigh.
Oh, and my other friend that had the VSG in October of last year has never reached goal, and is now also gaining a bit... ALREADY! Her biggest issue is alcohol and binge eating (donuts for breakfast, but then nothing else until dinner, when she has a Jameson and coffee, or 3).... when she called me, asking if we were 'allowed' to take things like Garcinia Cambogia, and I answered with "well yes, I'm sure you can, but how about your just portion out some chicken and cheese to eat instead of trying to starve yourself?" She didn't like it...
Easy for me to preach... and also easy for me to grab a Twix bar! Ugh. The struggle only gets worse the further out you get! Don't waste your honeymoon period trying to incorporate everything you want to eat just yet! As Grim says "Be a machine" and just do it! You can play with the foods and alcohol you want later, AFTER reaching goal!

I'm always AMAZED at how much sugar and calories are in most smoothies! Like literally an entire days worth of calories and a weeks worth of sugar! I don't think I could make one that bad at home if I tried! Often they're made with ice cubes so you know that the calories must be super concentrated in the mixers. I make mine from frozen yogurt (regular plain yogurt frozen in ice cube trays, not the dessert stuff) and frozen fruit with a little fresh spinach. They're a tiny fraction of the calories you see at smoothy shops!
