Good morning and Happy Tuesday! Just thought I'd get us started.

We had a freak storm in our city last night- it only lasted about 29 minutes but the main road that leads to our house was flooded and there was a tree down on another street. Plus the street lights were out at a main intersection.

QOTD: What kind of summer have you had so far? Our summer has been ok weather wise. A lot more rain and certainly not as warm as I like it. But overall it's been ok. Other than weather, we've been crazy busy - we moved as you all know and the office moved. We've had vacation and I had exams. Hopefully, August will be a bit warmer and more relaxing.

Menu:

B: Protein shake

L: cold cuts and cheese

D: Hamburger patty

E: I will be doing the 3rd day of ShiftShoo later

Have a great day everyone!

Ok going with Teena's since you are first.

QOTD:Summer has been MEH for me. I work regardless of season, wish i had summers off like teachers but probably could not deal with the drama during the school year. I do train as a tiny bit of my job sometimes so that is enough. It actually has not been that hot here in GA like it usually is so for that I am happy.

QOTD2- I haven't gotten super fancy with protein flavors. my fav right now is vanilla graham cracker. The one I want sooooo bad and refust to pay $40 for is chost powder in cereal milk flavor. I want it sooo bad. Other than that I've reallly only had cookies n cream, chocolate, and vanilla, and a mixed berry one.

Accountability: I didn't shove chocolate in my mouth last night, or nuts or bread. I did eat HB egg whites and sauerkraut. together, and I like it. then I went to bed before I did more damage. I'm still recovering from surgery, swollen, and weight is still up due to surgery and fluid buildup. I did have a tablespoon of culvers ice cream earlier in evening. I'm ok with this as I'm under weight goal and in maintenance.

Food Plans for today:

leftover pork belly

decaf/eas RTD in coffee

probably a protein cake or prot pancakes/donuts

lots of squash like yesterday

dinner is breakfast (have fresh thick bacon from butcher and sausage.) DH will have biscuits and gravy with his and eggs with cheese and stuff.

early morning this morning - I'm opening the library. Yesterday I couldn't wait to retire and was thinking I'd do it if DH got this job he interviewed for yesterday (he said he's going to take it if he gets an offer), but today I'm thinking this gig really isn't that bad. Great staff, lots of variety, hands-off supervisor, opportunities to work remotely some days. Plus some people recommend waiting a year after going through a significant death to make any major life changes...evidently you're not always thinking clearly that first year. Maybe I should give it to the end of the upcoming academic year (so basically, next summer) before taking that step. I can certainly hang in that much longer, even on my worst days...

QOTD: this summer - really, really sick of rain (although the last couple of days have been rain-free). It was so nice to get out to Colorado for a few days to escape from the monsoon!! Otherwise, it's been off-and-on stressful. I think I'll feel a lot more settled once we have DH in a permanent job, my extracurricular activities slow down a bit, and I've worked through this grief. Although that may be just in time for school to start up again...

2 years 1 month out

B: homemade Greek yogurt, fresh blueberries & raspberries

S: coffee with half & half, SF vanilla latte protein/Miralax shake

L: 1 C cottage cheese (crap I forgot my peach....)

D: at a dinner/board meeting for an organization I'm on (currently holding three positions on the board - ARRRGGHH!! Another big stressor at the moment...). It's at this pizza place. I'll either get one of the salads (one with meat and cheese on it - a small, of course) or an individual pizza and just eat the toppings

exercise: hopefully I'll have the time and motivation tonight. Did not have either last night. I'll go to the gym and do lower body weights and the recumbent cross-trainer

QOTD: Awesome summer. We had a 2 week trip to Sanibel Island, FL to celebrate our 40th anniversary in June and had a week-long camping trip in July. Very different vacations, but both were great. Now it will be a verrrrryyyy long stretch before any more time off. I love summer and hate winter. Oh well, time goes so fast that it will be summer 2018 before you know it. Gotta keep positive!

Menu:

B: Protein Coffee

L: 3 oz. smoked sausage, watermelon

S: Premier Clear Protein shake

D: Bacon cheeseburger (homeade without the bun)

E: 60+ minutes on the treadmill done

B: Poor man's casserole (spam spinach, velveeta, red pepper, orange pepper and a bit of macaroni) and beet salad with goat cheese in honey dijon shallot sauce

L: Beef and Bean chili (3/4 cup)

D: TBA (probably tuna salad or lamb and grape leaf casserole

Exercise: Tried a new body shred class! It was so hard sweat dripped off my face is droplets onto the mat and floor. I will be back! That is THE HARD class I was looking for.

Snack: Peppermint + licorice tea. No sugar, no creamer

QOTD: A fat one. I want these 12 lbs of regain off and they aren't moving. Which means up the exercise and cut the portion size.

So I have this mental block about Spam...

Perhaps it goes back to my elementary years when people teased me and called me Spam instead of Pam?

You're killing me over here... that and the Velveeta, and I'm gagging

WEll, I am from Minnesota and we have a Spam factory AND musuem here!

It was actually pretty good tasting..but the velveeta is entirely fake food. SPam has only 6 ingredients though..less than a hot dog (not that the hotdog bar is high).

How I ended up with this casserole was- I severed my pinky halfway off in a kitchen accident. I had to go on leave without pay to heal and do physical therapy. So, no money, and cleaning out the cupboards; thereby, the SPAM casserole was born!

That was the last of it-I think. So you won't be SPAMMED by me anymore!

:)

Have a great day!

I've never had spam, but my very best friend in the whole wide world lives in White Bear Lake, MN and she said that she and her mom went to the museum! They even bought me an empty spam can with a little slot cut out in the top. They call it a spam bank lol... Anyway, it was THE BEST "piggy bank" I've ever had in my life because you can't dig into it unless you really mean it because once that can is popped open there is no going back. When I got it I promised myself that I'd only put 20, 50 and 100 dollar bills in there if I ever had them to spare (mostly 20's - I'm no millionaire haha). By the time I was ready to go on vacation with Zach we decided to crack it open and see how much we had... drumroll please..... It was just under $1,000!! I need another one so bad haha!
