grilled scallops sound good! Do you put them directly on the grill, or do you use something? I've not ever grilled scallops, but I now think I need to!

Good morning! Thanks for starting us out today. :)

We had a great weekend. Did some shopping and got a few things done around the house. My dad is an electrician and we had a few light switches that needed adjusting, and a bathroom fan that didn't work so he got all that stuff fix. And then I repaired a broken pull chain on our ceiling fan in the kitchen. I was pretty proud of myself as it ended up involving taking the light part down and restringing the pull chain, replacing the bulbs with LEDs and putting it back up again. I was joking with my dad that I'm basically an electrician. It's kind of an inside joke with my daughter - she hung a picture or something and said she was basically a carpenter.

Yesterday, we had my mom and her husband over as well as my dad and a couple that we're close to. They called to invite us for dinner but since we were having company anyway, I invited them to our place. I stuck to plan for the most part except that once again I ate too many berries.

Accountability- I ate well except for too many berries.

Menu:

B: Protein shake

S: Greek yogurt with berries

L: Not sure yet - definitely protein- depends on what's on the menu in the cafeteria. If nothing good, I will have the salad bar

D: This too is up in the air. Tyler wanted to take me out to eat as it's just him home tonight and Charles is working but a friend is visiting for the night so I will probably end up doing something on the grill- maybe burgers.

Exercise- I started Shift Shop yesterday. I did Speed :25 last night, and Strength :25 this morning. Because of having company, I wanted to make sure I got it in as I've been slacking in the exercise dept.

Just realized this sec that I forgot my patches this morning, so will put them on tonight when I get home.

Forgot the QOTD- I don't think I've ever been to a National Park in either country. Been to several provincial parks and state parks in PA. Our family reunion is at Bald Eagle State Park every year and we really like it. We also go to Giffard Pinchot State Park almost every time we're down there because it's 10 mns from my sister-in-law's house.

This year as part of Canada's 150th birthday celebration, the Canadian government were giving away free annual passes to all national parks, but the closest one to us is about 2 hours away, and the summer got too busy so I don't think we will use it.

I know the Pinchot brothers. Have you ever been to Grey Towers? It was the first Gifford Pinchot's home, later the family gave (or sold - I don't recall) it to the state. It is a national historic site, and extremely beautiful.

Had a fun weekend in Chicago and the Chicago 'burbs. Spent some time going through my dad's family history files with a couple of 2nd/3rd cousins who are really into genealogy, then drove around finding several of the old houses/churches/schools of my dad and his sisters. Really got me missing my dad and aunt, though, who both passed away earlier this year :-( But it was good to get out of town for the weekend - DH and I really need to take more mini-vacations, and Chicago is close so we should really be doing this a lot more often! I feel ready to go back to work finally after having all of last week off... DH has a job interview today, so that's good, too!

QOTD: I lived in western NC for 10 years, so I've been to the national parks around there (esp the Blue Ridge Parkway, since it was like five miles from our house), but I'm having a hard time recalling any more. I guess we were always more "city people" and really didn't visit parks.

2 years 1 month (maintenance):

B: homemade Greek yogurt, fresh raspberries & blueberries

S: coffee with half & half, peach melba protein shake

L: 1 C cottage cheese, peach

D: 2-3 oz buffalo chicken, salad

probably another yogurt in there somewhere
