Afternoon, menu peeps!
Wahoooo! Had my barium swallow this morning. Fingers crossed--it's the first hurdle of many on the road to victory! Next week have to have an MRI to make sure the tumor in my left hip doesn't need to a biopsy. Fingers crossed, but think it will be fine. Such BCdrama. Poo!
Librarian, LURVE your new avatar! What a pretty girl--you look like a younger you!
Yesterday was a laid-back easy Sunday. Made a yummy roasted pork loin that we'll eat on all week. Gotta love "cook once/eat thrice." I love making the main portion of the meal (usually meat, cuz you know...PETA and all--people-eating-tasty-animals) and having it ready to go and lurking in the fridge=priceless; then all I have to do is make a veg and throw some avocado and tomato on the plate and BAM! No brainer dinner and a happy Mr. Fluffy--yes, please!
QOTD: Since I'm from the "National State of Texas," I'ma claim that any park within the great Republic of Tejas is a "national" park--or at least a national treasure. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. I don't know that I've been to any national parks. (I'm an ignorant Texas cracker--fair warning.) Most summers were spent at Garner State Park, and I'm proud to be a "Garner Bum--tried-n-true," I used to be able to do the Garner Whip with the best of them and even have the cutoffs saved and waiting to wear again, soon. It's my favorite park of all the parks in Texas. I would go to it, hands down, over any other park in the state. Good times! Great spades, super jukebox tunes and nightly "prom" during the summer, and the coldest ice tea in the state.
Menu: 704cals; 71g protein; 31g fat; 16g net carbs
B: Fasting for the barium swallow
L: Green soup (collards, green chile turkey taco meat, Trappey's pickled pepper vinegar, BTB red. sodium chicken base)
AS: If I'm hungry (since missing brekky) will have a Cheeky Monkey Smoothie with psyllium fiber...cuz you know...well come on...I KNOW, you know!
D: Roasted pork loin, zucchini with garlic and olive oil, avocado and tomatoes
Psst: Tomorrow I move up to 800cals/day for the next couple of weeks. Gosh, that will feel like such a splurge!

Hello all- late post for me as usual. I have been MIA for several days. I was busy getting ready to go camping and the went camping Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I went with some family and some great friends. We all had a great time!!
Accountability: I ate protein forward, but there were smores involved. I ate one tiny smore both Friday night and Saturday night. (1/4 cracker for the top and for the bottom of the smore). I was not hungry so I should have left them alone. Not that it is a good excuse, because there is no good excuse - but what I really wanted was a cigarette, I left those alone and ate a snack instead. Several of the people I was camping with smoke. I quit over a year ago and still fight cravings.
On the upside I did lose 1 pound while I was camping.
QOTD: I went to the Grand Canyon as a kid, it was awesome. As I live in South Dakota I have been to the Black Hills the Bad Lands, Custer State Park, and Mt. Rushmore.

I'm surrounded by beautiful National Parks. I like being in the Hoh Rainforest in the Olympic National Park. My favorite park is White Sands in New Mexico. Someday I want to be able to hike and sleep in the middle of it. It's magic.
Today I ate a protein bar, roast beef, mozzarella, cold brew coffee, bare apple chips with 1 teaspoon of peanut butter, and will finish up the shrimp tonight and some yogurt.
My twin is having surgery tomorrow. I would rather have surgery than be the one waiting. If you have a moment send off a good thought. The good news is I don't have to eat a donut over it.
