What's on your Sunday Menu RNYers?
on 7/30/17 9:00 am
Good morning dear peeps! Congrats on the move, IF. Moving the art installation sounds dramatic and scary!!
Having a slow morning with decaff, exercise (walking), and board reading--and a slow Sunday brekky with Mr. Fluffy. We both have some work to do today--I have my barium swallow tomorrow (for WLS approval) and also have my first orthopedist appt to evaluate a golf ball size "lucent" tumor in my left hip. It's causing the devil's own pain--especially when I try to sleep/rest. We don't expect it to be metastatic, yay God! But tomorrow will be a time-sink for us from a productivity perspective. Boo.
Accountability-I'm guessing this references the previous day's food? I'm notorious for planning my day, then deviating within the framework of my macros. le sigh. I look at my "plan" as really being a contingency or Plan B, in case I don't feel up to cooking or being more creative. It's basically filled with low carb "low hanging fruit." Yesterday I stayed true to my cals and macros but had an entirely different lunch and dinner based on low hunger. Since I had extra cals I "had" to fill to make my 700 cal daily goal, I tried a very rare treat--Halo Top Vanilla Bean ice cream. I had 50g of it with 1 tbsp of SF Hershey's Syrup and 4g of roasted/lightly salted almonds. It was a spectacular treat and I woke up to a loss, so it would work for a once a month-ish treat when I'm feeling like my alter ego, "Miss Behavin'." Yesterday: 700 cals; 79g prot; 24g fat; 25g net carbs. (Per my surgeon I'm trying to up my pre-surgery cals from the 500/600 cal range to the 900/1000 cal range because she is concerned I won't get the post-WLS weight loss bounce that most people experience since my pre-surgery cals are so low/austere...wah.)
QOTD: If I had all the money in the world, I would live in a bikini, cutoffs, and a straw cowboy hat, and go barefoot, or wear those old-timey rubber flip flops. I'd pack a cooler full of water and ice tea and a suitable LCK lunch and off we'd go for a river float down the Frio. I would buy back our family property overlooking 7Bluff and repatriate the 42 acres into one family compound. We'd spend the day floating and playing at the diving rocks and come home to cook some burnt offering sacrifice to the grilling gods and make a huge bonfire. We would routinely howl at the moon.
Menu:
B: coffee, 1 bacon, 1 egg+egg whites-fried, sauteed super-greens trio
L: chicken chopped salad with red. fat feta and 3zero's Greek Dressing
D: Dijon roasted pork loin (if it's defrosted), green bean in garlic, avo/grape tomatoes
S: 1 tbsp psyllium husks in a big ol' glass of CS Apple Spice iced tea (yeah, cuz I love living dangerously--should I die, I want to go out "regular" and with proper colon health. hehe
I consider "accountability" to almost be a confessional of sorts, haha! Maybe not that extreme, but I post if I went way off the rails and had treats, or unplanned snacking. If I swapped chicken for fish at dinnertime or something like that, I don't bother, because I don't feel like I need to "face accountability" for just changing my mind, or realizing I forgot to thaw my planned dinner from the freezer or some other such thing.
Halo Top is wonderful! I do keep it on hand as a treat, only because I know I can measure out ice cream and eat the portion and be done--ice cream and most sweets aren't triggers for me to binge, and I don't really crave them. I can't keep chips or salty snacks in the house though. I will not stop at one reasonable portion. EEK.

Get outta mah head! That's not yours! hehe! The force within my inner crunchy/salty carb monkey is strong! I too can take or leave sweets. We actually bought the Halo Top cuz Mr. Fluffy had a "coop-un," and he is a T2 and misses ice cream. So we got one to see how it affects his BGs...jury still out on that one, but the texture/taste of the HT was very nice!
Ok, seriously, loved the explanation on Accountability. Dur! Makes perfect sense--welcome to the "confessional." Thanks for that!!

HI Everyone,
Trying a different approach today. Normally I am starting the day with protein decaf coffee. My stomach isnt liking this. So today I decided to start with a tiny bit of decaf and go straight for the food to see if my extremely upset stomach would just simmer down.
For me, my Sundays probably wouldnt change much even if I had more money. With the exception of fishing. If I lived on the water, I would have a boat and if I had a boat, I would be fishing. Ocean, lake, freshwater. But being a travel agency has its perks. If I get bored and really want to go somewhere, I just do it and the best part is it is a tax write off because I blog, send out newsletters and then come back to sell locations to my customers. So far this year, I have been to Costa Rica, Aruba, Asia including Singapore, Japan, Vietnam, Beijing and Shanghai. The a month ago to Alaska and Seattle. So being at home and sitting in the woods on my porch or working on Sundays is pretty much what I do. Taking a break so I can heal some and focus on my businesses.
So here goes for food:
12 ounces decaf
2 ounces of egg beaters and salmon mixed together
Probably turkey puree this afternoon and some cottage cheese
Isopure banana protein shake with 4 oz of almond milk 25 calories
Some kind of pureed meat or salmon again with TB of mash potato mush
Maybe yogurt?
Lots of water and all my vits
Going for a long woods walk today

Morning folks!! We're on our way home, I'm glad we'll be home by early evening so I can prepare for the work week.
Accountability: so it worked much better on the drive down where I was able to plan and pack snacks. Going home isn't going so well. It's 3pm and I've consumed 1100 calories already- I've hit my protein goal and hit my 55g carb goal. I can easily go the rest of the day without eating-- but I just don't wanna lol.
Qotd: if money were no object it would be whatever my kids wanted to do on a Sunday- and shopping, endless shopping!!
no weight, no scale, 27 months out

m2: waffles house: cheese eggs, sausage and 1 slice cinnamon toast

Wow! I love the giant dragon/horse and enormous spider! Very creative!
I have to work today, took some time off during the week so I have to catch up on making things. If money and the need to produce weren't an issue, today I would love to be relaxing at the summer house I spent so many lovely months at when I was growing up. Maybe I'd go canoeing on the lake. The air itself there is so beautiful: silky, full of birdsong, and deliciously redolent of mint and pine. And at night, I'd make a fire and read by it. I miss that! It is 3,000 miles away. Maybe next summer!
First: Cinnamon PP
B: 2 oz - ham/cheese
L: 1.5 oz - turkey/cottage cheese
D: 1.5 oz - lemon/ginger/soy marinated chicken
Possibly another protein drink - trying to up my protein.
Water, water, water!
Good afternoon! Late/quick check in. Last night was rough- my "old lady" kitty Twinkie (she is 14) started having blood in what little urine she could pass. Hubby took her to emergency vet and luckily it was just a UTI so she's on some meds and hopefully on the mend soon.
QOTD: I would take a airplane to Hawaii.
Menu: B: latte, eggbeaters, turkey sausage links and 1/2 an orange L: Cheesecake Factory skinnylicious lettuce wrap tacos S: latte, yogurt with bran, Brazil nuts and Buddig beef D: BBQ chicken pizza (on low carb lavash) and SF pudding made with Fairlife
E: run and elliptical
W/V on track
I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday.
