Finally joining OH, looking for support to lose regainI
Do you follow the menu thread too? I am still seeing my surgeon every year for labs, he is wonderful and so supportive. My last visit we focused primarily on my concerns about acid reflux, but at the end of my visit he asked if I was happy with how I was doing and I explained to him what had been happening with my weight. He knows me by now- that when I make up my mind I will make it happen. But I don't know how my journey would be different if I didn't have access to his support still.

I think any of us farther out from surgery can relate to your story Ginger. I'm so happy to see you join and post here. I had RNY in August of 2012 too and have been active here since 2 months before I had my surgery. My initial weight was 273 and for the last 4 years I have weighed 118-122. My coming and posting here daily keeps me on track and accountable and has kept regain away. I still follow the rules, weigh myself and my food and journal what I eat daily. I will never be able to eat like a normal person and I've accepted that. I'm a carb addict--especially sweets and the farther I stay away from them the better I do. Even supposedly good things like protein bars make me crave more so are a trigger for me. I'm willing to do without the tasty treats because being tiny and having no diabetes, high cholesterol and triglycerides and uncontrolled high blood pressure feels better than eating junk does. Today I can go anywhere and do anything and have energy to spare. Keep posting daily and know we are here to help and cheer you on.
Thank you for the thoughtful reply Karen! I have been thinking about protein bars since you mentioned them, I need to pay more attention to see if the cause cravings for me.
