Thanks for starting us out Karen. I didn't even know pigeons lived to be that old--that's a testament to your pet owner skills for certain. QOTD it's my first name, first letter of my last name and a random number. No creativity here either. My middle name is Sue. Beautiful slightly cooler and less humid day here in Illinois and Lily and I enjoyed our 3.5 miles this morning. We'll also do another mile after supper. Post op 4 years 11 months today and weight at 118.2. Accountability was good yesterday with zero extra bites. Here's the food plan for maintenance today B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L egg salad made with relish and mustard 1/2 c with sliced tomato D 31/2 oz baked chicken 1/2 c green beans S P3 Pak. My pics today are a new one of Lily after our walk. You can see she's quite that she managed to wad up and then lay on my pillow. She's not at all spoiled! The other is the shirt I wore to exercise this am. It has a story behind it. I've been obese my whole life and I was so embarrassed when my oldest started college and we went to the new student parents meeting. At a break in the program we all went to the bookstore and everyone including my husband were picking out spirit wear. There was nothing to fit me --not even a man's 2Ã--. When I had my surgery the next year one of my first goals was that shirt. Before the boys graduated I had that shirt in a women's XL,L,M,S and finally the one I wear today an XS. I could have sold myself short like my surgeon did and stopped when I got to 65 percent of my excess weight lost. I could have stayed with the XL shirt. But I didn't jump thru all the hoops and have surgery so I could still be overweight. My goal was to be the best me I could be so I kept plugging along. At 273 pounds I could never imagined being the 118 I am today. My surgeons office told me I would never be a normal bmi--but guess what--I proved them wrong. Don't sell yourself short. Keep following your plan and be the best healthiest you you can be. Getting off the soapbox box now.
I love the story behind your shirt... and also the important message you posted about not selling yourself short!!! You are one of the great inspirations around here that makes me love being here!!!
And of course, you already know how much I love Lily!!!
