What's on your menu (Photo Friday) RNYers?
Good afternoon! I've been stinkin' busy today, but I've got some time now.
I'll stick with anonymity too, but my nickname is a tribute to my late uncle. We're a lot alike so I thought I'd use it.
My menu:
B: protein shake (my wife surprised me with a jug of it from Costco, saving me the trek this weekend!)
MS: 1/2 cup ff greek plain yogurt with 1.5 oz blueberries (man they're fresh!)
L: 1/2 cup shaved turkey and a laughing cow wedge, cut up and laid on a few romaine leaves, wrapped up. a half dozen carrot sticks and 1.5 oz of cauliflower/broccoli
AS: 1/2 cup cottage cheese, 1.5 oz blueberries.
S: taking the kids out to a patio restaurant tonight, but I'll probably have a half portion of a chicken wrap or something. Maybe a chicken/spinach salad that I can eat some, take the rest home for the weekend.
ES: decaf coffee, likely a mini meat stick. Maybe a half dozen cookies..... Just kidding. :)
Vites, Water, etc.
Exercise: Walked to the doctor today, then to work. THat'll be it for tonight. I had a small callous on my foot frozen at the doctor. He thinks it was a corn that my foot decided to protect with callouses. So he froze it up, and will see what transpires. Walking has been a little bit tender the rest of the day. Tomorrow I'll bike up to the gym and do my thing, bike home, and take the kids to the beach or something. I have a 3 hour show tomorrow night with the band, which will drain me pretty good by 11pm. The amount of energy expended while drumming is pretty crazy and dehydration is a very real thing onstage but totally worth it.
Have a good weekend!

Remember, no matter where you go.......there you are.

Karen,
Blossom (with whom you walk around the subdivision) and Tippy are so adorable! I miss having dogs, but my 2 Siamese cats are more dog-like than any other cats I've ever known, and are a pleasure to live with. They are 16 now and I think it would probably be hard for them to adjust to another pet in the house.
I also love that you rescued a suffering pigeon, and that he has been with you for 20 years! I find that amazing and touching. And he's beautiful, as all doves are. I've always found pigeons to be special, gentle creatures, rather magical. I love the beautiful, iridescent feathers around their necks. Remember the old lady sitting on the cathedral steps, tossing bits of bread to the pigeons, and singing "Feed The Birds", in Disney's Mary Poppins? That image really stuck with me, from childhood on.
First: Cappucino PPP
B: 1.5 oz. Turkey W/ sliver of cheddar.
L: 1 oz. Chicken thigh
(So far today i feel completely, uncomfortably stuffed on less than half of my servings...yuck!)
D: Probably 1-2 oz. tilapia, providing I feel up to eating. If not, another protein drink.
I want to thank EVERYONE who commented about my daughter and me rescuing "Pigie" and having him for 20+ years. I'm astounded and thrilled that he has lived so long! And who knows how old he was when we found him. He is such a joy! He coo-coo's to us softly and plays with us and with his many toys in his cage. He loves to be held and never poops on us while being held. He loves to take baths in a tote in the bathroom and splashes around in the water. He knows his name and responds to us when we talk to him. I'm so glad he decided he wanted to stay with us when we tried to set him free.
