Changing boards for a while
Hi all!
So, ah, I'm 11 months out now. And I just found out we are expecting a baby this spring! I don't know a whole lot about doing this post op. I've already talked to my surgeon's nurse and she said to just keep my 12 month check up and keep doing what I'm doing. I'll be going to see my OB next week. I'm not at goal yet, but that will have to wait a while now. I'm sure my OB will let me stay low carb to keep my weight down, she was in favor of it with my last child to limit my chances of gestational diabetes. Anyway, I guess I'd better mosy over to the pregnancy board! I'll miss everyone here!

10+ years post op, living & loving life!
Congratulations and good luck.
Remember that ginger tea or capsules are most likely safe for both the RNY and pregnancy and are great for nausea.

Ginger is great for nausea, but it also "moves blood" - a Traditional Chinese Medicine term, which is why it can help with a period which is late (not due to pregnancy), when you are feeling bloated and stuck. A little ginger is ok while pregnant, of course, bu****ch the quantity and frequency.
Congrats on your great news!

Thank you everyone, I think I will stick around then, the pregnancy board doesn't look very active at all and I don't want to lose my good habits. With my first baby I can still tell you that Long John Silvers had a $5 sampler platter that included a drink and piece of pie, and Dairy Queen had a 99 cent mini banana split sale all that summer. I had a pregnant momma friend and we both gained a LOT of baby weight enabling each other in that whole "eating for two" thing.
