Good afternoon Daisy and menu family!

Accountability: Yesterday was weird. Over all I did well, but I ended up making up the menu for last night's dinner while I was in the grocery store, where I stopped on my way home from work via bike. So I was hot, sweaty, tired, thirsty and even though I was limited to what I can carry on the bike I still spent over my budget both calories and dollars. I ended up making Chicken Almondien (sp?) and I bought new potatoes (those purple on the inside kind) and a friend contributed fresh asparagus. I roasted the veggies and potatoes with red onion, crushed garlic, and minced rosemary. I only had an 1/8 cup of the potatoes (basically one potato) along with four spears of the asparagus, and 2 oz of chicken breast. When I got home from the store (plastic bags dangling from my handlebars and misc groceries shoved into my laptop bag) I downed a can of Pure Protein which I hadn't budgeted... Final numbers look like this: Total Calories 1181, Protein 102, Carbs 101, sugar 43 (yikes!) and fat 37. I biked 14 miles and the ride home was a new PR and actually counted as exercise since I passed the 10 mph threshold on MFP :)

QOTD: I think it's up for grabs, but if you "get it" you should surrender it from time to time to allow your neighbor access.

I don't much care who uses the armrest. Unless caught in the middle seat (where I use neither), I lean slightly away from the person next to me (unless we're together), and use the armrest on the far side.

I too had a memorable, terrible airplane experience. I've only flown a few times since then, actually buying two seats so as to avoid ever going through that again. In another few months that won't be necessary anymore, I know at what weight I can fit without overlap in coach. The whole experience was genuinely traumatic, cruel and beyond embarassing. Oh well! Just another example of how never, ever to treat another human being, no matter what their shape or size! I swear, I will never judge an overweight individual for their size. You never know the whys and hows of another person's struggles, far better to be kind than judgmental.

Accountability: still need to up my exercise, too easy for me to slack. Also, had 2 SF popsicles yesterday.

First: Cappuccino PP

B: 1.5 oz. Turkey/cheddar w mustard

L: 1.5 oz. Boneless/skinless Chicken thigh

S: Cinnamon PP

D: 1.5 oz Buddig ham/cheddar

Sorry you had to deal with an embarrassing situation. I look forward to your future post that you'll be able to make when you fly next!

I think it was the intense, deliberate cruelty which fixed it in my mind, more than the embarrassment. Plus, the reason for my trip was to bury my mom in the place she had specified, so I was a little sore of heart to begin with. But everybody on earth goes through bad experiences, better to concentrate on the present and create a better future. It happened, but it won't ever happen again!

Hi OH family

accountability: I did pretty good yesterday. I ended up having tuna crudo at my lunch date instead of soup (thanks for the nudge to get me to not eat soup or salad just because it's easier - the pure protein made a HUGE difference! Plus I got to go home with leftovers for dinner.).. I did break down and have a couple small pieces of xylitol sweetened chocolate though.. feeling kinda bad about that but I didn't eat chips!

QOTD: I have always been a personal space person when it comes to strangers so I always try to lean away to give myself as much space as I can. I will say that if you're in the middle seat then you are entitled to BOTH ARM RESTS because, lets me honest, the middle seat is the WORST! And it is particularly awful when you're overweight and uncomfortable with being on a plane to begin with so I always try to give the middle arm rests to whomever is in that seat. Usually I get stuck in the middle when I travel with Zach because he has flying anxiety and always needs the window seat but I lift the arm up and usually snuggle up to him a bit - it's not so bad now that I'm down a few pounds lol.

RNY 7 months out

S: 1.5tsp of almond butter

I think you mean WE got this! Lol! I'm so excited for you and your new journey. We can definitely help motivate each other and be one another's accountabilibuddy. Great things are coming for us. I never in a million years would have though that I'd be able to say that I ran over 5K the other day but it is REAL! And it's only going to get better. Strap in, sister, it's going to be an amazing change

I promise it gets better if you stick to it! I was really improving with my time and then I completely fell off the wagon and when I got back to it I suddenly added several minutes to each mile. It's about getting it done though, it's not about the time. It does help me keep pushing myself to see my own personal progress though. You've got this! Two miles is two miles! This is my thought - it's two miles more than you would have done from the couch. That is a HUGE DEAL and you should be way proud of yourself for that

Oh yeah, I could barely do half a mile when I started. I wouldn't be out of breath or anything, I just have NO strength in my legs, so they'd be jelly. I added weight training to my gym routine, and I'm definitely noticing more strength. Can you believe I used to play softball in high school?? I definitely want to find an adult team to play again with post-weight loss
