The fat person inside me...

You must have read a different response than I did. I didn't get any of those things you mention.

I don't have a special name for my inner struggles with head hunger and disordered eating. I work hard to not call myself names. I heard them for years, and I internalized them. I think, though, that using that language, even in internal dialogue, can easily become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I think too that many of us say nasty things to and about ourselves in an effort to stave off others saying it. 'Yeah, Two-Ton Rhonda here, coming through'. That never actually works, though. People will still make comments. That's why it's important to speak well of ourselves.

I would never call anyone else names, and when I call myself that, it's not because I don't love myself. I'm just not that offended by the word "fat." It's a descriptor word and it describes what I currently look like and the voice inside that wants to eat a whole pizza is urging me down the path that will enable me to continue looking that way. On my part it's only lighthearted fun, but I realize there are many who are offended by the word, so it's not something id ever say in public. But at home just joking around with my husband, who calls his bad inner voice the same thing? No big deal to us. But we also have a bit of a deranged sense of humor.

I'd like to follow this up by saying my husband does not call me fat nor I him.

I get it...

I once had a bf *****ferred to my behavior (that he didn't like) as Single Girl Syl. LOL I immediately understood the point he was trying to make when he'd say...There's Single Girl Syl again.

I usually refer to my inner voice that tries to make me make bad food choices as "That Fat Girl" Such as: That Fat Girl wants pizza and ice cream, but she's not getting them.

Men don't have nick-names for our pesky fat inner selves. By the time we come up with nick-names for our junk, we've had enough.

Mr. Softie would not be a good name either.

I doubt that Stinky Meat Puppet tops the list either.
