I'm still researching what I want to do and I'm 100% positive I want to go with RNY. It seems to have the best success rate, and I see a lot of people revise from The sleeve to RNY.

My husband had RNY in May and does not have dumping syndrome. He ate a cookie to test (WHY WOULD HE WANT TO TEST SOMETHING LIKE THAT?). His only issues have been eating too big of bites or too fast. He's also lost his taste for sweets, even prefers plain yogurt over flavored.

I can ...note the CAN eat sweets but know my weakness so just don't have it in the house. I can't eat fatty items such as ice cream. That leaves me in a fetal position praying for a quick death. Trust me, dump one time and you will not be tempted to try it twice

My mom did have dumping syndrome, and it makes me not want to even experimentally test to see if I will or not when i'm post-surgery!

My surgeon was very clear that RNY is the one he prefers and he sees better results with. I hve friend, a married couple, who one had RNY and one had VSG. The VSG says he wishes everyday he had gone with RNY like her. The research I see out there looks like RNY has better outcomes. I love my RNY and am grateful for it everyday.
