Morning all! school day, swimming lessons. It has been horrifically hot here, not looking forward to sitting on the pool deck all week.

Accountability- I had garlic bread for dinner. That's all I have to say about that.

QOTD- I have had migraines since I was a teenager. I was really worried about what I would do with them after surgery. My best remedy has been high dose ibuprofen. But I have only had a couple of mild ones since surgery. I have no idea why! My last really bad one was actually the day I went for my pre-op testing. I was fasting and had no coffee, and I was there until 2pm, and by the time I left I was sick as a dog.

Food today, 10 months out-

B- making eggs and bacon with cauliflower "grits"

L- This odd looking bahn mi hot dog wrap thing? I don't know. It was on my emeals, lol. Plum with it.

D- grilled cumin lemon chicken, some kinda veg

Good morning. We had a great, but busy weekend.

Accountability: I took my son to an animal sanctuary Saturday and we stayed overnight. They literally had zero healthy options that I could stomach. I ate half a hot dog with no bun and did fine but was worried about getting sick most of the time. I did good the rest of the trip when we were at the hotel.

QOTD: Since surgery my headaches are so infrequent. I used to take ibuprofen daily because I would get headaches. Now I might take a Tylenol every two weeks. I think it was linked to my sleep apnea.

Today:

10 weeks post op I think

B: dunkin coffee and wake up wrap

L: I forgot to pack mine so I am going to look for some protein packed soup at one of the local eateries.

D: egg beater omelet with ham and cheese. 3 slices bacon

S: greek yogurt or turkey pepperoni

Good morning menu folks. Off to start a new week. Lily and I already have our 3.5 miles done and will do at least another mile after supper when it cools down. Accountability was good with no extra snacks last night--probably because I was busy. QOTD I used to get frequent severe migraines before I had my boys but have not had one since. I do sometimes get headaches from allergy or sinus pressure but they are rare. Post op 4 years 10.75 months and weight at 118.4 today. I need to drink more today as I got busy yesterday and didn't drink my usual 100 plus ounces, which is a bad thing in this heat. Here's the food plan for maintenance today B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz deli turkey and cheese 1 hard boiled egg D 31/2 oz homemade sausage 1/2 c coleslaw S P3 Pak. Have a great day everyone and make some smart choices that move you one step closer to your goal! Have a great Monday.

It helps that Lily really really likes to walk and will drive me bonkers til she gets to go. That's why we go first thing in the morning. We come back and she rests and I start the rest of my day. Then after supper she's bored again and ready to go again. She's the machine--not me. And the consistency of exercise makes me more aware of my food choices and of eating mindfully every day. So Lily is the key to my success I guess.

QOTD: Weather pressure headaches can be brutal, and yes I get them. I got migraines for many years, I guess they were hormonal related, as since I am post-menopausal and balancing my hormones, I don't get them anymore.

I say who ever planned IKEA was a master. You walk through the maze like a rat, and just when you think you can't take anymore- there is like a mirage in the desert... cheap swedish meatballs and a cup of coffee. It restores you and you can finish. Ha.

Yesterday was my 3rd year Surgiversary. I posted here. take a gander if you like

So yesterday, here it is my 3rd surgiversary and all... I decide to go looking for an elusive pair of white crop jeans after church. My fashion stylist Maryann said they would go well with the top I bought in France.... I usually do well with Gap. Gap outlet and Old Navy...as I also have the tall issue to deal with. Well I was going to be near Gap Outlet so after church I went... Nothing in my usual size was fitting or looking good. Nothing. I am within my maintenance zone. But it is not going well...So had over to Old Navy...like 8 pairs white jean/crops in fitting room. Got through about three...nothing fitting. Am now convinced 6 weeks of surgery recovery while not changing my weight has made my butt wide from sitting on the couch. Oh the mental games we go through. I decide to buy the pair I like even though they didn't come close to buttoning. In my mind...I will try them on in the morning. So even though the scal fluctuated up .8 this morning...they fit and I could zip them. I guess I was just retaining water/swollen yesterday. Not sure if I am keeping them as the waistband which doesn't have much stress falls right on my hip bone. #tallgirlproblems but they fit!

B: Latte w/fairlife/mct oil/Miralax eggbeater omlette with bacon/TJ Lite mozzarella

L: Chicken salsa

D: Petite sirloin, spinach

S: yogurt with added protein powder, small salad, PB on spoon. I have been on a chocolate mug cake bender...every day. They only have 105 calories, but when you are doing something everyday...I think it is not a good sign. So publicly making myself accountable- none today.

EX: First time back to gym today. Was excited this weekend discovered I could swim with my arm in the pool if I did the backstroke..Mostly the elementary backstroke, with some regular intermixed..so did laps and felt like I got some actual exercise.
