Hello! I had my RNY in September 2005, and lately my scale has gone up quite a bit because I have been so hungry! I am up to 183 and want to get back down to 140. I need to get back to basics and push through until my "head hunger" (which I am sure it is) is gone. Here is what my day looks like:

B: One scrambled egg with 1 scoop unflavored protein powder, 1/4 avocado, 1 tbsp salsa verde

L: One cup organic chicken broth with 1 1/2 scoops chicken-soup flavored protein powder

D: One turkey zucchini burger with chicken-soup flavored protein powder, 1 serving avocado & shrimp salad

S: SF cherry jello made with unflavored protein powder

Drinks: 6 cups water, 1 cup black coffee

Totals: 866 calories 25g fat 2,860mg sodium 37g total carbs 5g fiber 105g protein

Pre-RNY Weight: 280 lbs (09/14/05)

Lowest Post-Op Weight: 140 lbs

Starting Ozempic Weight: 180 lbs (08/26/22)

Week 1 Weight: 174 lbs (09/02/22)

Congratulations on getting yourself back on track. We are all here cheering you on. I'd suggest trying to fill yourself up with dense proteins like chicken or beef instead of your broth at lunch. Even with added protein powder that's still a liquid which will go right through your pouch and leave you feeling hungry very quickly. Just a suggestion.

Yes, 100% agree! I started my period this morning though, and I am always nauseous the first day so the chicken broth was all I could do for lunch :)

I have been sick. So much nausea that nothing sounded good. I ate 6 saltine crackers in order to get my meds down. First crackers in a long time.

My totals were 548 calories.

What foods work when your nauseated?

I make one armed chicken. I buy boneless skinless thighs and cut up vegetables and throw in a crockpot. I have a thing about touching raw chicken. Dump it in there and throw some kind of seasoning.

Ginger can help nausea (it's why people started drinking gingerale when they felt poorly). Try grating some fresh, if you have it, either into tea or just into ho****er. Or into warmed milk of some kind. You may have to sweeten it slightly. Dried ginger can be used, though it can be very strong, so go slow and taste before adding more. Of course, you have to like the taste and smell of ginger! Hope you feel better soon.

Hi everyone,

I just realized that my post disappeared!

QOTD: Since surgery I am not much of a fan of chicken anymore. Sometimes I can eat Boarshead chicken breast, sometimes chicken salad, and rarely a chicken leg or thigh.

Very busy day doing a lot of cooking for the week.Veggies for my wife and ground sirloin, boneless pork chops and hot Italian sausage for both of us.

B: 2eggs, 2 slices bacon, slice of cheese

L: 3oz turkey breast

S: 2 oz turkey breast

D: 2oz hot sausage, 2 ground sirloin, 2 forkfuls of broccoli rabe

Cals:662, Carbs:7, Protein:87

Enjoy the rest of your evening everybody!

Do you deliver?

I think you and Grim need to have a grill-off. I volunteer to be a judge!
