What's on your Sunday menu RNYers?
Yes we will!!! Slow and steady wins the race, that is what I keep telling myself :)

Weight is such a funny thing. I am ,9+ years post op, at goal. Just maintaining. I learned to look at my weekly average. My weight easily can fluctuate withing 5 lbs within every 24 hours. Like really... In weird weeks - it can be within to 8-10 lbs. Last week I had chinese (no rice) the next morning my weight was up 4 lbs. My gut was upset and I had runs, so this morning my weight was 4 lbs lower than yesterday morning. So between Thursday morning last week and Sunday morning - I "lost" 8 lbs. Today I am doing a lot of liquids and taking some minerals to offset the dehydration the runs caused, and I am sure my weight tomorrow would be up 2-3 lbs from where it is today.
As long as you follow the plan - you are losing fat. Body tries to balance things and temporarily may retain some water.
You will get there. Patience, grasshopper.

Thanks!!! I know it has to come off with what I am eating, but sometimes it is just frustrating. I am keeping track of my weight loss and have a spread sheet that I started and I have noticed a trend since I had surgery. For two weeks I will lose anywhere from 8 - 12 pounds and the next two weeks it is 3.4 - 4.4 pounds. This has happened every two weeks since surgery. I guess my body does so much and then puts the brakes on for a while. I keep telling myself just one more week and then it should start moving good again. In the mean time I only work 2 day this coming week so I plan to do a lot of walking to see if that will help some too.

Hello!
getting out the door for church and potluck, then taking my girls to get haircuts. I badly need to do something with my thin, sad hair. I'm trying to work up the nerve to go really short. I'm scared! Never had short hair before!
QOTD- grilled chicken hands down, though I used to have this fantastic recipe for arroz con pollo that was out of this world. Need to find that again, even if I make it without the arroz. :)
Food today, 10 months.
B- Hmm. I will probably eat a baby bell cheese and have a protein shake on my way out.
L- potluck, protein forward
S- we always pick up froyo after haircuts. Maybe they have a sugar free one? I don't remember.
D- some leftover roast and zucchini

Good morning everyone! Friday night my mom came in and stayed with us. She got in late, but we put on Say Yes to the Dress and I gave her a mani/pedi (I'm a Jamberry Nails consultant, and she loves them, but won't put them on herself). Saturday we went shopping at all the little niche stores she doesn't have in her hometown--we went to The World Market, and Trader Joe's, and did a little thrifting. It got so hot and humid that we ended up coming back to the house to cool off in the AC and watched the movie To the Bone on Netflix. EXCELLENT movie about eating disorders, though I have no idea how accurate it is in regard to treatments. Meals were unplanned but all decent choices since she is a WLS vet. Today I might try to get my fall seeds started for the garden, but it's been so darn hot, hard to get the motivation to work outside...
QoTD: We eat chicken very often, so I always try to come up with new ways to prepare it. Our go-to is marinade (we switch up what kinds), then grilling it. I like dicing it and stir frying with veggies and cauliflower rice. Lately I make crock pot "enchiladas" without the shells by slow cooking chicken breasts in enchilada sauce with diced green chilies. Then add toppings of choice before eating (cheese, sour cream, etc).
Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs with salsa, and 2 turkey sausage links. Coffee with Vanilla Premier Protein
Snack: summer sausage and cranberry cheese I picked up at the World Market
Lunch: Spinach Salad with leftover steak
Snack: a Greek L&F if I need it
Dinner: Chili Lime shrimp skewers

Good morning all~ Yesterday I was feeling better and we ventured out to lunch, went bowling, did some shopping. I scored some great deals on much needed clothes and even bought my first ever pair of Converse! I choose navy blue and they are so adorable!!! Rob and I were able to enjoy our dinner date last night by the fire and watch a movie together. A very nice day. Today, were are taking to dogs to the park, I'm swimming, then the weekly prep....
QOTD - Chicken is the one meat I have a 100 different way I cook... I love all pieces, cuts, on the bone or boneless. I usually do a custom dry rub and bake or BBQ on the bone chicken. For boneless, I usually pan grill thighs for stir fry or curry and BBQ marinated breasts. I made chicken parm last night using a cast iron skillet, it was really good! I love chicken and was worried that my brief intolerance post op would be permanent. I'm thankful that all has passed.
Accountability - Didn't really have a plan yesterday due to not feeling well. I ended up have half a cheeseburger no bun for lunch and a small piece of chicken parm for dinner (parm only crust). Lots of liquids and popsicles too.
8mo post op - 189.9 today, shocked that I maintained the crazy loss from being sick. I think staying hydrated paid off!
b-coffee w/cream and splenda, tall skinny latte from SB
l-leftover chicken parm
d-eggs and bacon
v/l - started
e - 60 min lap swim
Have a great day all!

Good afternoon friends... Had a great time yesterday... Spent an hour or so cleaning off my husbands father and grand parents graves then spent 5-6 hours just wandering around Barre and Montpelier VT. Growing up I had family that lived in Barre so we drove around there for a while. Then we went to Montpelier and saw my husbands uncle that still lives there and just wandered around our capitol city. We ended the day having dinner at a Mexican restaurant. Nice relaxing. Then this morning we went out to breakfast with my mother in law and one of my husbands cousins and now we are home to get ready for the week... Did not even make it to Kohl's!
QOTD: I really like to make what we call a swamp chicken, just cook up the boneless skinless chicken breast then once it is cooked throw on some Mexican cheese and salsa until the salsa is heated up and the cheese is melted.
Accountability: I had about 1/2 c of a blue margarita and about 5 chips with dinner but the rest of the day I did really well with staying protein forward...
My food for today:
B: Yogurt and Granola and 1 sausage link the diner makes homemade suasage and it was amazing.........
L: not really planning on eating because I am still really full will do an early dinner
D: deli meat and cheese carrots
S: SF Popsicle
Have a great rest of the day friends

My favorite easy-ish for company chicken recipe used to involve pounding boneless, skinless breasts thin, dredging them in flour, egg, and breadcrumbs, pan-trying in butter and lemon juice until not quite done, then finishing them in the oven with lots more lemon juice and plenty of capers. Now I'll have to figure out a replacement for the flour and breadcrumbs, maybe finely ground nuts?
I live by myself. Though I enjoy cooking when I have guests, I don't much care about it when cooking just for me, and can easily have a very repetitive menu.
One easy-for-one chicken dish involves marinating boneless/skinless pieces in a ginger/lemon type of salad dressing with a dash of added tamari sauce and rice wine vinegar, and then either baking or grilling. Extras can be packed for subsequent meals. I have yet to do this post-op, but I know I will sometime soon.
Yesterday I had a bad headache, which i think was due to being a bit dehydrated. Couldn't use my old miracle headache cure, Excedrin for Migraines, darn it, as it contains aspirin. I ended up just having lots of water and waiting it out. Still feel it a little today, not bad, more like the headache's hovering a few inches outside of my head, just waiting to either move back in or be further banished. So lots more water for me today!
First: Cinnamon Buns PP
B: 1.5 oz. deli turkey, .5 oz. cheddar, little mustard
