What's on your Saturday menu RNYers?
Morning! Quiet weekend here, cleaning, and I want to put together our fire pit if I can stand to go outside. I should do that first, before it gets any hotter.
QOTD- one important thing I've learned, or I am learning, is detachment from food. It is much more functional now for me. Not that there aren't things that I love, but, I don't know, it's just not that big of a deal. Last night my kids scarfed the fish I made, the package didn't have as many pieces as I thought it did, so I just had some tuna. My oldest was horrified for me, lol. But I truly did not care in the slightest. I cook every day and make lots of different things because I am feeding a family and I want them to eat well, and because my husband and oldest kid are dieting and will do better with good stuff on the table. But if it were just me, I would be very happy to eat very simply most of the time and push food to a still more functional status. That was SO not the way it was this time last year, when I was busily planning food funerals for all the things I thought I would die without.
Food today- 10 months out-
B- there are a couple of leftover baked egg cups from yesterday, I'll have one of those, and a chocolate cherry protein shake.
L- lunch meat, cheese, pickles
S- yogurt with PB powder
D- Saturday means pizza for the kids, steaks for the grownups. I have some farm stand tomatoes to have with.

I feel the same way about your QOTD: I'm not feeding a family but I do cook different things for me and my wife. We both eat healthy but sometimes we want different foods. For the most part I don't don't care what I'm eating as long as it's good protein.

Surgeon, Darren Tishler
Headed to the airport later this morning to go visit my aunt in Colorado. She's the last remaining sibling of my dad's family. As far as I know she's in pretty good health, but at age 91, who knows. I'm excited to see her again. It's probably been 15 years.
qotd: logging. And coming on OH every morning to post my menu. Both have helped tremendously!
i have no idea what I'll be eating later on today- but something safe!
2 years 1 month out
B: homemade Greek yogurt, strawberry rhubarb salad
s: coffee with half and half, cantaloupe vanilla protein/miralax shake
l: ??
d: ???
Good morning! We are mostly beaching it as it is very warm here (Cape Cod MA). Then put to dinner with friends tonight.
QOTD: OH is probably the major thing - I'm on daily. I also go once a month to my center's in person support meeting. I plan my meals and log everything in MFP. I weigh daily which I NEVER did in the past. I forgive myself for transgressions and get right back on plan. I eat protein forward and know what will fill me up (and use that to my advantage as much as possible). I take daily walks at minimim and do Zumba once a week. In winter I also go to the gym, but I hate being cooped up inside this time of the year, so I substitute walks on the beach.
15.5 months post-op, in maintenance.
B: eggbeaters and cottage cheese
L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese
D: Fish of some sort (out to dinner at a fish place)
S: yogurt, nut thins & hummus

Good morning weekenders!
It's another super hot day here, but I decided to brave the heat and humidity and go out for a walk this morning. It definitely was hot, but it felt good to be out and moving. I may hit the pool later, but we'll have to see.
We have a friend coming over this afternoon to help with a few household tasks like putting up a new blind and rolling up and disposing of an old rug. He is one of my favorite people so I look forward to seeing him. Other than that it is too hot to do much active stuff.
I find that I mind the heat somewhat less than I did when I weighed more, but I still don't like the extreme heat.
QOTD: I find that exercise has become a central part of my day. It helps me physically and mentally.
Breakfast: turkey breast
Snack: Fuzzy Navel protein shake
Lunch: TJs chicken sausage
Snack: hard boiled egg
Dinner: ?
Exercise: long walk, swimming

Good morning!
Great question Erin. I guess the biggest thing is logging on here most days and using MyFitnessPal every day. I'm very proud of my 187 day streak on there.
Mom stuck in a stall again. Been up and down between 197 and and 198 but today was 199.1. Yuck. Hope it breaks soon.
Not much on the agenda. I have lots of organizing and unpacking to do and I have to go to the paint store to pick out colours. My best friend is coming down tonight to drop off her daughter for a week. Tomorrow we're going to a BBQ for our cousin's sons. They both have July birthdays so this is a tradition.
Menu: Other than my protein shake, I have no clue. I might make chicken breasts for supper.
Hope everyone has a great day!

RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.
77 lbs lost and counting!
Losing the regain! I got this!
I used to find that sometimes I would go up by about a pound just before I lost again. Maybe our bodies hold on to extra water in defense?
