What's on your Saturday menu RNYers?
morning weekenders!!
anyone have plans for the day? I'm home alone and will enjoy a bit of a lazy morning. Then get organized and head to the farm. My husband's bday is Tuesday, and I think we'll celebrate at brunch in the morning with my parents.
I think I'll make him an ice box cake of some kind. Pre op, I was a chocolate fiend. Now that I don't eat desserts, it's kind of liberating creatively hahaha I'm more willing to try different flavour combos.
Qotd: I know we've talked about it in the past, but I was reading an article recently about people who successfully manage their addictions. It got me thinking about all the things we need to be successful long term. A strong support network. Behavior change. Mindfulness, exercise, a creative outlet etc.
Which have you incorporated into your daily post up life?
I have spent a lot of time on behaviour change and mindfulness . I start each morning quietly and think of my day, and log in here. I think of OH as both a support network, and an act of mindfulness, because the questions and posts make me reflect.
I need to work on having a hobby( I just seem to lose interest quickly) and since I started working exercise has really fallen by the wayside.
accountability: good !
menu:
B: preotein shake
L/d : no idea, will depend on when I get on the road.
have a good one Menu crew!

Morning Friends.. Well today was supposed to be an annual reunion on my husbands side of the family well last night they postponed it until next month because one of his uncles is not feeling well. Which is fine except we prepaid for a hotel room months ago because we wanted to get a good rate. We were going to go to the lake and campground all day and then just go the hotel when we were done. So we are still going to go spend the night but are now like what are we going to do in Montpelier, VT on a Saturday. My husband goes oh lets go tour the Ben and Jerry's factory it is not far away yeah thanks babe... but no...We do know we are going to the cemetery where my husbands birth father and grandparents are buried and will place some flowers and then there is a small mall with a Kohls in it so we will end up at the mall I'm sure.
QOTD: I think for myself I have adopted trying to do more for me. I have always made sure everyone else came first and now I am not afraid to stand up for myself. For example last week a work a coworker came to me and told me she wanted to take a day off that I had planned for months because she wanted to go to a concert. Before my surgery I would have been like ok sure I will change my plans and now I find that I am more willing to say I'm sorry but I have plans that day and not change them. As my husband puts it I am less of a doormat.
I also exercise more in little ways like instead of taking the elevator in my office I take the stairs or I park as far away from buildings as possible.
Food for today:
B: Hard boiled egg whites, coffee,
I have not clue for the rest of the day because we are winging it... I am going to bring in our cooler some cheese and ham because my husband may want lunch somewhere that is not Penny friendly and I will be nice and let him have his junk food...
Have a great Saturday my friends...
Montpelier is a great little NE town. DS got his bachelors degree in Culinary Arts at New England Culinary Institute in Montpelier. We miss visiting the town, though we only went in the cooler months. We did go to Ben and Jerrys and maple syrup places. When he gets up I'll ask what is good to do in the summer there.

My son says there is a place called the Corn Maze near Montpelier that is pretty cool. Of course Burlington isn't too far away.

Good Morning Insert Fitness and Menu Family!
No big plans for the weekend. My daughter got home from Royal Family Kids Camp last night so I'm excited to hear all about her week there. She was a volunteer counselor for Foster & disadvantaged kids. I'm so proud of her for doing that.
QOTD: I have written down of EVERY SINGLE THING I have eaten since the day I got home from surgery and the amount of protein, calories & carbs in each item. I get on this menu board and post nearly every day. I enjoy the QOTD's and the accountability. I also post my food in MyFitnessPal. I try to be mindful when I eat and savor each bite. I try not to watch TV or do other things while I eat. I take my dog for a walk nearly every day and have recently started walking her further. I need to find a creative outlet because boredom causes me to want to eat.
Accountability: Yesterday: Protein - 82, Calories - 1,095, Carbs - 88.
B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks
L: Birdseye Voila chicken stir fry
D: hamburger with melted cheese
S: light & fit Greek yogurt
E: Walking Blossom around the subdivision
Have a FANTASTIC Saturday everyone!

Good morning menu Peeps! Another scorcher today in Illinois with 82 degrees when Lily and I began our 3.5bmiles at 550 am. We will also hopefully do another mile after the sun goes down. Busy day today with laundry and cleaning and painting at the parsonage to do. Last pastors trashed the house and left it filthy and full of deserted items that we now have to haul off and get rid of. It had me so upset after working all afternoon and evening yesterday that I came home and ate my planned snack and 4 extra handfuls of granola. It's become much easier with another person and their food in the house to find trigger foods in the evening. Tonight I will write in my journal and have a cup of coffee instead. I do well with all the long term habits like exercise and logging food and coming here to stay accountable. I need to find some hobbies though to keep me busy in the evening to help with unplanned night time snacking. Post op 4 years 10.75 months and weight at 118.4 today. Here's the food plan for maintenance today B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz deli turkey and cheese 1/2 c coleslaw D 31/2 oz ground beef 1/2 c coleslaw S P3 Pak. Have a great day everyone and make some smart and conscious choices that move you one step closer to your goals! Have a fun one.
Good that you and Lily already got out. I'm debating if it is cool enough to take my doggies out as they both have heart conditions and the Vet said to be careful walking out in the hot humid weather.
