I plan 2 snacks a day but have a 3rd ready in cast I need it. There are days when I sometimes only eat 1 because I just don't want to eat but I have to be careful due to getting low blood sugar.

We used to hide stuff in the oven sometimes when we had company coming (and in closets). We had lots of clutter when the kids were small.

Good afternoon Daisy and friends!

Accountability: Yesterday was bad. Today will be awesome.

QOTD: I was given a list of final steps I needed to complete once I'd completed the necessary steps for insurance approval. OH was listed in the first few items, and I was basically instructed to create an account and start using the search feature in the forums to learn a lot more about what to expect. I joined that week, which was a few months before my surgery.

Shoes! I forgot to take a pic of Vibram five finger shoes which I love love love! Here is a pair of my current favorite casual shoe...

3.5 mo post RNY/ 164lbs/ Weight-loss Stage

B- Coffee with cream (half decaf)

MS- half a Subway tuna melt on whole wheat flatbread

L-skipping today due to weird schedule

AS- shrimp ****tail

D- Pan-roast salmon greens

ES- Greek Yogurt

Total Calories: 568, Protein: 84, Carbs: 53, Sugar: 16, Fat: 11

Today was my 3 mo followup appt. I'm showing (on their scale) a 50lb weight loss which takes me to within 20 lbs of their goal. The NUT reviewed my blood work and was only concerned with the BUN/Creatinine ratio but agreed that it was likely fine, just due to my running and low carb diet. She did strongly encourage me to increase my protein and total calories on days when I have very hard workouts, and when/if I'm still hurting the following day to assume I need extra fluids and protein to help my body flush out the damage and rebuild the muscle.

We argued over my calories (averaging around 725/day) and she insisted I will still lose at 1200/calories per day, and will have a higher final resting metabolism by doing so. Our final agreement was that I'd allow myself up to 1200 calories per day on work out days and 900/day on "easy" days for the next month and then we would discuss and go from there. She was fine with my low carb approach, she suggested to add calories I add in low carb veggies, and increase my fat levels. We'll see!

Testing metabolism after weight loss has nothing to do with how much you eat during weight loss. I started at almost 400lbs ate sub 1000 calories for all my weight loss and now can eat significantly more in maintenance.

Honestly there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or a reason as to why some people can eat more. Surgery changes our metabolism for some of us more than others.

Get to goal ... then figure out maintenance

TGIF Menu Friends:

Cleaning up my son's room for tomorrow's delivery of desk & chair is my only plan for the weekend. My son's walk from camp to home is turning into an adventure. Yesterday, he stopped at Jack in the Box for the cool air!

QOTD: My PCP told me about OH when she suggested the surgery. She is an awesome physician!

ACCOUNTABILITY: Ate too many protein snacks--2 bars, bariwise peanut crunchy balls.

M1: lots of chai and decaf with vanilla protein shake

M2: chili with cajun sausage

Leaving work early to get an intra-district transfer to enroll my son in middle school. The rest of the day is up in the air--I may stop at my fave restaurant for short ribs or pork chops, collard greens, green beans.

These SW booties are my favorite shoes--I wear them year round!

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!
