gov't job with raises? You're lucky! We've gone eight years without a raise :-( (P.S. I'm a gov't worker, too. But state, not federal)

I'm in county government and we have been in negotiations for a year for this and it finally came through! Since the economy is doing better, we will hopefully continue to receive annual COLA's. We went 6 years without a raise before though.

Congrats on the raise and retro too! I haven't had a raise in about 13 or 14 years! I work with people that have Intellectual Disabilities and i'm the private sector working for a non profit agency. We are funded by the state but we are not state employees so we have much smaller budget.

Sometimes it's not about the money. You are so lucky to have a very rewarding job. I don't feel the same about mine at all.

Yes, you are absolutely right. I do love my job! I'm sorry you don't like yours. I have had many of those and it sucks. I feel for ya!

feeling like a tub o' lard today. I think it's a combination of backup and too much sodium lately. My weight is up a couple of pounds to boot. Not liking this at all!

I did much better with night eating last night because I got out of the house for a couple of hours - Vitamin Shoppe, CVS, and the gym. I think that might be the key..

QOTD: I miss both WAY too often, even though I have no excuse. I'm almost always alive and awake for both!

2 years 1 month

B: homemade Greek yogurt, blueberries & raspberries

S: coffee with half & half, mango protein shake, 1 of those small beef jerky sticks, 2 Laughing Cow wedges

L: not sure. We're having a staff event starting at 12:30 and going all afternoon, so I have no idea what the lunch will be (it's some catered thing). I'm going to be good, though. I've front-loaded with a lot of protein this morning, so I am not hungry *at all*.

D: something light. Maybe turkey taco meat. With lettuce and tomatoes.

exercise: yoga

Happy Wednesday friends! I had a productive evening last night. Grocery shopping trip for the week done. Did some good meal prepping work. Meaty ricotta bake packed away and frozen. Packed up portions of the spaghetti left overs. Made a big batch of yogurt in the IP, will strain it tonight. Overall, good stuff.

QOTD: I see the sunset most days, rarely the sun rise. I am not an early morning riser and thankfully my job doesn't require me to be. I don't have a set time for work but I arrive by 9am most mornings.

Menu: B: Oatmeal (I tried a new brand and it was awful...only ate half) and a peach (lovely peach! Way better than that nasty oatmeal; L: Meaty ricotta bake; D: Instant Pot BBQ Shredded pork and salad; S: Light & Fit Greek yogurt; ES: Bacon

Have a great day!

IP yogurt question/observation. I make it weekly and sometimes it seems to take forever (by forever I mean like almost 2 hours) to get to 180 degrees. How long does yours take?

I make mine with Fairlife, yoghurt button for 6 hours and it's perfect every time. I see so many problems with the other methods, I've decided to not mess with what works.
