Question
I am from Canada. We only say "pop". I don't think I have heard "soda" here.

I think "pop" is pretty common everywhere except the northeast and the south. "Soda" is used a lot in the northeast - and oddly, eastern Wisconsin (where I live...). When I lived in the South, the usual terms were "drink" or "Coke" ("Coke" could refer to any soft drink, not just actual Coke). I think I've seen a map somewhere online of the preferred terms for it in different parts of the country.

you could also try a fruit flavoured herbal tea bag in your water bottle, gives your water a little boost!

"What you eat in private, you wear in public." --- Kat
I'm not RNY, but my program said no carbonation ever. I would definitely wait a few months before giving it a try.
I'm just shy of 9 months post-surgery and just started drinking it again...with one caveat. I make it go flat before I drink it. I tried one swallow the first time around, and I burped like I'd just chugged a whole can! Plus, it actually made my tummy hurt a little. So, since I was missing the taste and not the carbonation, I'm perfectly happy drinking my flat soda!
(They say pop in the south as well lol, but I'm still north of the Mason-Dixon line!)
