Rush rush rush this morning. About to head to a meeting. Had foot surgery follow up this morning...two more weeks in the boot but all is healing great.

QOTD: I wore colors before but definitely more black. Now my biggest change is that I want my clothes to be fitted. If they are loose at all I fear gaining weight and not being able to tell. No elastic waistbands for me because I imagine I will suddenly expand with it. Weird head thing I know but it is a thing for me. Now I think my co-workers imagine I am just trying to show off my shape but honestly it is all rooted in fear and weirdness.

Accountability: I did well, not off the plan yesterday. It was easy...there was almost no plan. Still 127 this morning so close enough.

Menu: B: Greek Light & Fit, cherries; L: Unknown...I brought a yogurt in case but work meeting includes lunch. Will see what they order and make a game time decision. D: No clue...grocery store is a must tonight. I am thinking about doing hamburgers. Not sure. Will depend on what is on sale.

I am that way now too about how my clothes fit... if they are in the least bit loose, I'm tossing them into the 'too big' pile... I don't like baggy AT ALL anymore...

Again, sometimes I fear I am pushing the limits with how I'm wearing my clothes these days... but you know what? I feel GOOD in them...

I got a pair of size 5 shorts at Goodwill the other day... I them... they have little rips in the pocket area, and sit really low on my hips (I can't wear them with something tucked in because of belly skin, but that's OK).

And you're right... it's all rooted in fear and weirdness... I think I look FAT in baggy clothes. I'm returning a dress I bought (actually a NEW dress, gasp!) because it's just not fitted enough... when I put it on all I see is a fat woman in a trash bag looking back at me... sigh.

Good Morning Everyone

I believe I had the easiest menopause experience possible. At 47 I just stopped and that was it. No no hot flashes or mood swings. My body certainly changed because even though I was MO I never had a stomach and I developed one and the hair on my head thinned but grew on my face. Fun stuff!

Accountability: stayed on track as planned yesterday. Mira lax is not doing its job though for the first time since surgery so I'm gonna have to up my game somehow. Adding an extra dose today and adding more fat to the diet than usual. Hopefully that will do the trick.

QOTD: I always wore the darkest colors I could find! Now I love bright colors, especially on shirts and dresses. I believe my face has aged a lot since I've lost weight and colors really help me look better.

B: decaf with pp and sf torani, egg scrambled with butter and cheddar

Good morning Daisy and menu gang. Love the top Daisy! Menopause, what can I say. I am pretty well done with it, but I was speeded though it with chemo. I don't recommend it. My symptoms weren't so bad, or at least not as bad as some stories I've heard. My hot flashes were more like hot rolls, coming on slowly and building. I didn't take anything for them, except in the beginning before I was diagnosed with bc. Black kobash worked pretty well to lessen the worst of it. Here's to wishing you a short, easy ride on the estrogen train.

i am currently sitting in a breakfast/lunch cafe close to my home. I come here on house cleaning days to escape the chaos. I always order the same thing: an egg over easy with a side of bacon, and coffee (the coffee is spectacular here. From a local roaster called Stumptown Coffee and the roast is Hairbender. It lives up to its name.). I am sitting at my table and they deliver my food. The women at the next table looks at my plate and says, "you must really like bacon." Well yes, yes I do. She then goes on to praise what she has just eaten, a cup of chia, bark dust oatmeal with a side of smugness. I made appropriate appreciative noises, and then really enjoyed eating my delicious bacon in front of her. I don't think I've ever enjoyed anything more. People are funny, and a constant source of unexpected entertainment

OOTD: I always wore colors, even MO. What I do wear that I didn't before is white pants, shorts and skirts and horizontal (hormonal?) strips. Love them now.

Today is errand and chore day, which means lots of running around. I am hoping to get a bike ride in too.

2-1/2 years post op:

B: egg, bacon (!)

S: protein water, egg salad w/ cottage cheese

L: chicken quesadilla on low carb tortilla

S: 3 oz ham, protein water

D: chicken leg/thigh

Totals: calories 930, carbs 27, protein 122

Have a great day everyone. I am getting a second cup of rocket fuel.

OMG I can't deal with the smugness! So funny story - my BF's ex-wife randomly decided to be VEGAN a few weeks ago (she watched some documentary about slaughterhouses). So she suddenly is sending a barrage of texts to my BF about how awful it is that we serve the kids eggs and bacon at breakfast, and how chicken breast on the grill is "cancer on a plate" and how we should "educate ourselves". Mind you, the kids pretty much hate all vegetables, so she is feeding them brown sugar oatmeal, toast, cereal, and pasta with tomato sauce. It's basically a CARB diet. So ridiculous. Luckily they revolted and within a week she was back serving them hamburgers. But I told my BF I am happy to make them quinoa and other vegan protein sources, but I won't serve them simple carbs for every single meal! After all, my food intake before RNY was probably 90% noodles and bread, and we see how well that worked out for me! The smugness of a chia and oatmeal eating person is hilarious to me :)

It is always makes me laugh when vegans/vegetarians get all smug and preachy. Hey, I respect their food choices, and they should respect mine. Besides, I bet a pig would eat bacon if you fed it to them.
