What's on your Menu today (Tuesday) RNYers?
I'm sorry to hear you are still dealing with liquids. That really is the pits. I know it is hard but you will get to the other side soon.
Just keep swimming...

"I am basically food's creepy ex-girlfriend. I know we can't be together anymore but I just want to spend time hanging out" ~me, about why I love cooking so much post WLS
Good morning :)
I'm off to the mall with my cousin today to go shopping. I need to find shoes for my friend's wedding. My cousin is on summer holidays from high school and her parents are away, so we are going to hang out!!
Accountability: I didn't think yesterday was awful, but my carbs were way too high at the end of the day.
QOTD: I wore bright colours both before and after but I find myself wearing more patterns now. My skin tone doesn't do well with dark or pastel kinds of colours. Bright and jewel tones. Also, I went out for dinner with a group on the weekend, and four of the ladies were wearing plain black leggings and dark shirts. I wore a denim skirt and a bright blue top. It's summertime!! Must wear bright clothes ;)
Breakfast - protein shake
Snack - egg, pickles
Lunch - chicken
Snack - Greek yogurt
Dinner - bunless cheeseburger
Snack - protein shake
All water and vits.
Morning Menu Family.. Been a busy week or so and I have been MIA for posting so getting back on this ride. Last Friday's pictures oh man you all look marvelous!!! Today is going to be a warm one and I have a headache not a good combo for me...
So FUNNY story... On Sunday I was looking at hotel room prices for our next visit to our daughter in DC in September. Well someone at Marriott really messed up because I happened to fall into this room rate in Bethesda at a Marriott Suites for $15 a night. Yup $15.... on Labor day weekend no less I thought for sure something was wrong but I booked it and got a confirmation and everything. Hopefully when we get there they will not argue with me because I have the email where it clearly says $15....We are paying the same price for parking every day there as we are our room crazy!
Accountability: Past week or has been ok I guess. Generally on Saturday mornings I sit down with a calendar and write out what we are having dinner for every night of the week makes it easier for grocery shopping, taking things out of the freezer and my husband and I not going through the what do you feel like eating game and then ending up eating out. So for the past two Saturday's I have not done this and so things have just really been screwy. Not eating bad things just feel like we are eating out a lot and not eating as protein forward as I would prefer so last night I filled out our calendar for the rest of the week.
QOTD: I have always worn a rainbow or colors. Orange and red being my favorite colors I have always worn them wherever I could.
Food for the day:
B: Hard boiled egg white, 2 slices of bacon, 10 grapes, decaf coffee
L: egg salad, 1 slice of wheat bread, 1/2c cottage cheese
S: yogurt w/ 2tbs granola
D: taco meat w/ lettuce tomato, onion and cheese
S: SF popsicle
Enjoy the day my friends

Prepay that room before they figure out their mistake!!! Hope you get to keep that price! Seriously though, call up and pay for it now before they change their minds!

Good morning everyone - quick post for me again this morning. I will catch up on posts later this afternoon.
I just turned 49 and I thought that I was starting menopause. No hot flashes but missed my cycle for 6 months (December - May) Then it decided to show back up in June :( I have now had it the last 2 months. Pretty sure that I am at the pre-menopausal state.
Accountability: I followed my menu yesterday!!

Good morning Gang. I'm back in the office today, so running a little ragged. They are actually rearranging where everyone is sitting this next weekend, so my desk will be moving. This week I have to pack up all of my business items into a box and take all my personal items home or to my car by Friday. The movers will be rearranging everything for us this weekend and we'll come in and unpack first thing next Monday. I expect it will be nuts. I have done absolutely nothing to pack, thank goodness I've only been here since November and my personal stuff is minimal. I'm also scrambling because we have an internal audit on the horizon and I'm making sure that everything is where it's supposed to be in our records. Fun stuff to add on top of all of my regular work.
Anyway, enough whining. I met my new therapist yesterday, and liked her. She's young, obviously since she's a graduate student. I think that this is a good thing, because she is really attentive and interested. I get the feeling she sincerely wants to have a positive impact on me, and even went so far as to ask what I would like out of our sessions. I'm a talker, and believe me she got an earful, lol. Anyway, I'll be seeing her regularly, and look forward to some suggestions from her on how to manage some of my issues.
Accountability: I didn't have a plan yesterday, so I can't say that I ate off plan, but I didn't do as well as I should have protein/carb wise. I ended up at 1281 calories, 78 protein, 128 carbs and 58 fat. That included my evening snack of 3/4 of a pint of Halo Top Sea Salt Caramel ice cream. Good new is that I'm down another 1.8 pounds this morning and I stopped taking my water pill on Sunday. This morning my scale said 155.2. I moved it around the bathroom floor 3 times, becuase it doesn't seem right. But, honestly, I FEEL smaller. I think I was chronically on the verge of dehydration for months, and since I took the water pill and upped my fluid intake, I shed a bunch of extra water. So, I made sure to get a big ole bottle of water this morning to drink with my coffee. I am bound and determined to do better with my fluid intake from here on out, so I'll be adding that to my accountability each day here.
DD2QOTD: I was kinda out there when I was big, I did own a lot of black, but I also had a lot of bright colors as well. It was another sort of defense mechanism, I think, being out there and garish at times as a slap in the face to the ones who would judge. Kinda like "Yep, that's right I'm fat, and...?" Now I'm into both colors and muted shades. Today I am finally wearing normal pants again, and not leggings or a dress to be more comfortable. I'm wearing khaki capris and a brown tshirt with Squirrel Girl on it, along with my running shoes. My company has a casual dress policy, we can wear jeans and tshirts if we want.

As an aside, my Baratric Surgeons program works with a research group to track patients after surgery. I had an initial interview with them before surgery, one around my 3 month follow up. Then I had one last year for my 1 year follow up. I just talked to the researcher yesterday for my 2 year follow up. It's intersting and I'd like to get in touch with them again and ask them if they have any published reports, and how long they track for. I expect to get another call next year at year 3. Has anyone else been in a research study like this?
Having to go through a bunch of hoops to get a new "compliant" drivers license. Good thing I had my passport renewed a couple of months ago, because now I need that. Social Security card? I bet it's been 20 years since I've seen mine. So now I'm applying for a replacement. GRRRR. What a hassle! But it's either that or having to remember to bring my passport every time I fly (the law doesn't go into effect for a couple of years, but my drivers license is about to expire, so now is the time...). Anyway, off to the Social Security office this morning...
QOTD: I do wear brighter colors now. I also wear accessories like colorful scarves rolled up and tied around my waist as a belt. Never would have done that while SMO (not that a rolled-up scarf would have fit around my waist then in the first place...). I find I'm wearing jewelry now, too. I'm actually buying earrings again!
2 years 1 month out:
B: homemade Greek yogurt, raspberries & blueberries
S: coffee with half & half, SF peach protein shake
L: cottage cheese & strawberry/rhubarb salad
D: leftover of some sort (we have lots) - maybe pulled pork. And a vegetable.
