Lol yeah I know I really do have plenty of time for kids. It's crazy because my mom had my brother and young so sometimes I think I'll likely be 35 when I have my first. When my mom was 35, she had two high school graduates and a middle schooler! It's not a competition, I know that, but I e been getting the "WHEN ARE YOU HAVING KIDS??" Question for the last 10 years (this is my second marriage).

I do like the styles at LB, which is why I fork out the money! But I still have a fairly limited wardrobe. The idea of having such a wider selection after surgery and going thrifting thrills me to death!

My mom was barely 18 when she had me too! Lol!

I wonder if having kids at a young age skips generations??? I really hope not because my daughter is 17 now, and I'm just not ready for that

You do know that this surgery and the weight loss can make woman very very fertile. It's recommended that you use 2 kinds of birth control until you get to maintenance.

I had my son a week before I turned 41.

Yes, I've been researching and have found several posts referring to superhuman fertility post weight-loss, so I'm well prepared. I'll be switching to non-oral BC soon so I can have time to adjust and find something that will work for me before surgery. We're both on a path to getting heathy and also saving for a bigger house, so waiting for my weight to stabilize after surgery is fine with us.

Good afternoon Daisy and menu family!

Daisy- search Amazon for "Chillow" this thing (about $15 usd) was a freaking LIFE SAVER for my first few years!!!

Accountability: I didn't stop at the store last night so no shrimp for dinner and snack. Instead I had a piece of string cheese and water before my run, then a Triple Zero chocolate yogurt after, and SF jello at night so about the same in calories but only 73g of protein. Overall, not bad.

MY GOD I'M a freaking SLOW RUNNER! Last night I REALLY felt like I was kicking up my speed. I ran 2.6 miles but alas, 18' 36" per mile. On the upside, I wasn't passed by any walkers this time and I actually passed a couple of walkers. A close review of my running app shows that I run a little faster uphill... I'm guessing that's to get it over with :) None the less, one of my goals here on OH was to run a mile without stopping by my birthday (late August) and I'm running over two miles now so I'll take that as a win!

QOTD: Since losing the first chunk of weight I have been willing to go with a few bright prints that I know for a fact I would NEVER have worn at my heaviest... Overall I prefer the blacks, navy blues, and wine reds...

3 mo Post RNY/165 lbs /Weight-loss Stage

B- 1/4 cup Greek Yogurt plus 1/2 scoop Protein Powder

MS- fruit salad (I was at an all morning meeting and they brought pastries for everyone else and fruit for me. I was grateful for the good thoughts and yeah, I ate it)

L- Hickory Smoked Tuna packet

AS- skipping

D- tonight I'm hosting some friends over for dinner, I'm making a Caesar salad with homemade Caesar dressing, and grilling some venison steak for the protein. I'll skip the croutons on my portion...

ES- SF Orange Jello

Super surprised to see another pound of loss this week. Like others have mentioned, I too seem to go a couple weeks with almost no change, then a nice steady decrease over a week to ten days.

It will be a huge challenge for me to resist a 3.5 oz pour of red wine tonight, but I will do my best to abstain! I may try using a dark red water flavoring in a wine glass as a mental trick to resist the need to pick up a glass. The big challenge is having friends over, and making a meal. Sipping wine while cooking with friends is deeply ingrained in my brain as not only normal, but required!

Exercise: My plan is to drive home, then either walk or ride my bike to the grocery store for dinner items. It's not much but at least it will be something to add into an otherwise inactive day. Tomorrow have a meeting after work that makes riding my bike impossible, but I will find a way to get my run in (this time before dark!!!)

So I used to drink every night as I cooked dinner... usually a nice glass (or 3) of red wine, but sometimes a ****tail (or 2)... It was my way of relaxing after work. I truly cherished those drinks.

I started pre-surgery making myself a big glass of flavored water, in a nice glass too, as I cooked. I really worked hard to take that out of my routine.

Now I just don't buy it, so it's not a temptation for me at all.

I did have a few drinks along the weight loss trail, but very rarely. And thanks to some of the people here that have told their stories about alcohol getting the best of them after surgery, I am very careful about not letting it become a habit again in the house. And I simply can't afford to drink too regularly when we do go out So that helps too.

When ever a medical person had asked me about drinking, my canned answer was "as much as I can afford" where afford meant the dollars AND the calories. Pre WLS that was about 4 glasses of wine a week, four nice pours of wine so a 5 or 6 oz pour. When I was prepping for WLS I cut way back but I missed it the most.

Thanks to all the great advice here, I'm still working on cutting it back even more. I don't buy it, I don't order it, I don't make eye contact with it ... But tonight it will be there, on the counter, uncorked and whispering to me. At least it's not as tough when I'm making a Caesar salad as it would be if I were grilling lamb chops or pan roasting salmon. I guess the only GOOD thing I can say about my post WLS drinking is that it is continuing to decrease in both frequency and quantity.

Edited to add that I wi**** were like beer. I LOVED a great craft beer prior to WLS but now all I want is a literal sip, just to taste the beer, and I want no more. Like I couldn't drink a beer if I had a gun to my head. I want to taste it, and I'm done. I wish wine was the same.

Does the purple cauliflower have a different taste to it? I've considered buying it, but I haven't yet.
