What's on your Menu today (Tuesday) RNYers?
I can confirm that. Sadly both Chickens and Pigs are pretty happy to eat their own! I had to work hard to make sure our chickens weren't doing that with scraps, thankfully the dogs were happy to dine on left over chicken...

I regularly feed my chickens leftover chicken and eggs... great protein source for them, and I'm pretty positive they keep the bug population so low they NEED the extra protein

My agricultural rep encourages us to avoid letting our chickens eat actual chicken due to some concern over diseases that can pass regardless of the cooked state of the chicken. I do feed mine extra or older eggs!
It's always amusing to watch the hens out hunting bugs and small animals. I can hear when one gets something sizable as there is always a big chase going on! Usually it's a grass snake but my girls are pretty good at catching mice too!
I'm really missing my farm. I miss my dairy goats more any anythings (and the goat cheese...) but my hens are dear to me too... and the horses... and the dogs... not so much the husband...

The comments/looks I get at work as I heat up my breakfast (typically leftover protein... meatballs, fajita meat, taco meat, etc) while the person snubbing my choices is toasting up a bagel, pouring a package of oatmeal into a cup, or eating some muffin... they are entertaining and irritating all at the same time.
You know they want what I'm having... You know they're drooling...

Daisy, you look fabulous!
all this menopause/early menopause talk is stressing me out a bit lol. I'm 32, and part of the reason I'm having this surgery is to improve infertility. I know I can't get pregnant for 2ish years post surgery--won't leave me a whole lot of baby making years! DH and I are content if kids don't happen, but I'd like to give us a fair shot.
QotD: as a plus sized woman I tend to shop at places like Lane Bryant, and they can be dpendy. So in that regard, I try to buy clothes that are easily mixed and matched, things I can get the most bang for my buck, which means a lot of black/gray, or other more neutral and basic colors. I do like blues and greens, and I have a few burgundy items, but no real "statement" items. Part of me wonders what my style would be if I were a regular size that can be easily found. I often look at what someone is wearing, admire it, but think,"I can't pull that off."
Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs with 2oz ham and 1 slice American cheese. Stopped for a Starbucks skinny latte.
lunch: 1/2 C homemade "napa" chicken salad in lettuce wraps
Dinner: maple bacon cured salmon (yum!)
snack: 1/2 C Halo Top mint chip
I had my first at 34 and my second at 36... you have plenty of time, no worries!
Lane Bryant and Cato's Plus section were my favorite places to shop... I spent a FORTUNE at Lane Bryant!!! But I always thought that their clothes were trendy and stylish, so I figured I looked better in them.
You will be able to pull off ANYTHING once you get into the regular clothing section.
I did (still do) most all of my shopping at Goodwill/thrift shops as I lost... it gave me a chance to at least try on SO MANY DIFFERENT styles... my closet reflects that too... I also learned there are some styles, no matter how small I got that just didn't work for me. I also find that I am attracted to different styles/colors depending on which day I go shopping... and it seems I am attracted to different colors/prints each time. It makes for a very varied closet of clothes!
