I have the same issue when I'm alone. And apparently, my kids don't count as having someone with me. So when my hubby travels, which happens almost weekly, I struggle with accountability.

I need to get an accountability buddy who I can send pics of all my food to before I eat it. Wonder if that will keep me on track when I'm alone?

For me I think that might easily become another guilt trip I play on myself because I would not take pictures sometimes and then feel rotten for sneaking. I don't know. Either way...I would totally be down for trying if you want me to be your buddy! You have me on Facebook, you can send me a message there and we can figure it out. Maybe if someone else is interested I could even set up and secret group on FB and we can all try posting all the food pics. Might be good for my night time issues. I'm willing to try.

Being home alone is the worst time for me cause that's when I always used to treat myself to whatever food I felt like eating. Then I'd feel awful after. I think I'm going to pick up knitting again cause it will keep my hands busy.

Popcorn is a huge weakness of mine to the point we stopped going to movies since we're both on the WLS track. I can do ok if I don't buy it for home. I just can't resist it at the movies when the very air smells of salty, buttery goodness.

I've only been to the movies once since surgery... and a large reason is because of the popcorn. I did taste some the time we went, but it wasn't an 'off the rails' moment like Saturday night...

I don't mind a 'cheat' when I feel in control... it's those cheats that happen when I feel like I'm having an outer body experience and I'm not in control... those are the ones that set off alarms with me.

Movie popcorn is truly the worst... and I make them literally DROWN it in butter when I used to go and eat it... like, I needed napkins UNDER the bag because it would leak... that was awful (but oh so good)!

Local movie theater chain in my area allows you to BUTTER YOUR OWN POPCORN. Might as well stick my face under the spout.

I agree and understand about the little cheats. Nobody is going to completely 100% eradicate all forms of junk from their diet forever. But we can anticipate and plan to have a treat, and not feel guilty. I completely agree with you that there's a difference between that and mindlessly eating, and it is that word--control.

Yes, our movie theaters have that too... and what I used to do was only have them fill it up half way... then I'd go smother it in butter... then go back and have them fill it the rest of the way to SMOTHER it again!

There was no possibility of evenly smothering without that logic... at least that's what MY brain thought... SMH

If I went to a theater that didn't let you do your own, I was always too embarrassed to tell them that what they considered Extra butter didn't even come close to what I really wanted...

Lol that was also my classic move to get even butter distribution. Otherwise it wouldn't get to the popcorn at the bottom, and halfway through your bag you'd have DRY popcorn. Completely unacceptable!

I might start taking healthy snacks in my purse for future movie dates. Nuts? Jerky? Run them under the butter fountain? (Gross)
