Thanks for reminding me of quiche. I have not made my crustless quiche for a long time. Going to whip one up for the week!

Good afternoon Daisy and menu friends!

Accountability: Yesterday was a bad bad day. My nutritionist team told us that we are going to have bad days but we are not allowed to have bad weeks. My experience in weight loss assures me that our bodies don't add and subtract fat on a meal by meal basis so I should be able to "make up for" the bad day with a few extra good days. I will do this starting now.

QOTD: I haven't noticed any changes in bruising lately but I am getting little bruises on my legs from my sister's dog, who seems to be made up of 95% sharp elbows, and insists he needs to be on my lap even though he's a pointer not a lap dog.

3 mo post RNY/166 lbs/ Weight-loss stage

B- Pure Protein Frosty Chocolate RTD shake

MS- Coffee with SF Cocoa mix

L- Oikos Lemon meringue yogurt

AS- SF jello and a string cheese

D- 3 oz shrimp ****tail (1/2 tsp ****tail sauce)

ES- (after exercise) 3 oz shrimp ****tail (1/2 tsp ****tail sauce) and SF Jello (just before bed)

Total Calories: 564, Protein: 100, Carbs: 39, Sugar: 29, Fat: 10

The sugar level is high (for me) due to the Oikos yogurt but otherwise I feel good about the day. I will only get in the shrimp if I can remember to pick up a bag of shrimp on my way home. I like getting the bags of large, frozen, precooked shrimp. I can take out a serving at a time and let it thaw in the refrigerator. I like the convenience and the fact that I'm getting my protein from a whole "real" food. I keep forgetting that shrimp isn't THAT expensive when you are only eating a few at a meal.

Exercise: I have been doing HORRIBLE at my running this past week! I'm getting wimpy about the heat and humidity. I didn't bike in this morning due to an earlier than anticipated meeting and tomorrow I need to travel for a meeting so it's out too. Tonight I'm going to get in a run (last week's make-up run) and then I'll do some overdue housekeeping like laundry and sweeping up etc... And if I can squeeze it in I need to do a little on my commuter bike. I basically assembled it and then started using it, but the brakes need adjusted (badly) and the front fender is loose and rattling...

I am constantly amused at how a bad day or two on my diet almost always seems to link to a good day on the scale. It's probably tied to water gain/loss but none the less, after a bad morning yesterday where I loaded up on peanut butter and blueberries, I weighed my self on my fancy scale and I was down another pound from my Thursday weight. Usually I'm up if I weigh in after breakfast and lunch. None the less, I'll take it! I really want to be below 150 by the end of August. I am very afraid of hitting the post surgery six month point and still having my final forty pounds in front of me.

One thing I've enjoyed is that I can afford to buy higher quality protein items (like shrimp, salmon, etc) knowing it stretches so much farther now :) I don't quite eat as little as someone who's had surgery, but I'm definitely limiting and measuring smaller portions. It makes for a different mind game at the store!

VERY late to the party today. The before and afters on Friday were so inspiring weren't they???

I did some extra eating today due to stress over the settlement on my car, though I stayed with more or less menu items and didn't go completely crazy (which I'm happy about). The car lost 30% of its value in 14 months (in pristine condition with less than average mileage). So if I want my dream car again, it's going to cost me (literally).

QOTD: I generally bruise less now because I always used to have black and blues on my hips from bumping into things and I also don't take a low-dose of aspirin anymore. But I did get a nasty bruise recently under my thumbnail and I have NO IDEA how I did it.

15.5 months post-op, in maintenance

B, L and S are actual -- D is what I'm planning to have shortly:

B: eggbeaters and cottage cheese; English muffin and peanut butter

L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

D: shrimp (need to go high protein, low-cal to offset prior eating)

S: nut-thins and hummus, peanuts

Thanks - Not a big deal in the overall scheme of things, though I did tell DH that the clinical trial he's in is getting expensive (we were on our way home from an appointment)! LOL!
