Daisy - you easily look ten years younger! Health looks AWESOME on you!
Accountability: I stopped at Aldi (discount grocery store) on the way home for a bag of frozen shrimp and left the store with dark chocolate and smoked almonds. This replaced the planned calories for dinner and to meet my minimum protein levels I drank a RTD shake before bedtime which took me up to 850 calories. I did get in almost 10K steps last evening so that was a win. I'm having some relationship issues, I had to stay in Cbus this week (normally I'm home Thursday night) and clearly I'm not cracking down on my rationalizations for bad behavior. Nothing like this journey to expose all of my issues!
QOTD: I would be a total waste of surgery if not for the ObesityHelp forums. I was shooting for calorie goals closer to 1000-1200 per day and I would have used the "extra" calories to consume whole grain carbs. Thanks to OH I'm keeping my calories significantly lower and avoiding carbs. I think OH has given me a much more realistic view of post RNY. I've learned that the mal-absorbtion is a short term gain and that while our bodies won't "relearn" how to absorb all the vitamins we need, it seems to master calorie intake in a matter of months :(
3 months post RNY/167 lbs/Weight-loss Stage
B- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt w/1 scoop protein powder plus 1/4 cup fresh blueberries (blueberries took me over my breakfast calorie goal of 200, but worth it!)
MS- not going to be hungry in time
L- Tuna packet
AS- Nothing counted here as I don't anticipate needing a snack
D- Sauteed shrimp over mixed greens with a Pomegranate dressing (155 cal)
ES- Pure Protein Frosty Chocolate shake (post workout) plus a SF Jello (before bed)
Total Calories: 663, Protein: 108, Carbs: 37, Sugar: 22 (YIKES), Fat: 10
Exercise: Tonight is a "run" night - 3.19 miles for the first time and I'm supposed to do this in 56 minutes (YIKES!!!) My plan is similar to Wednesday night, I'll run south on the bike path for the entire run, then walk back home to assure I get in all of my steps. Tonight I'll make sure I get off the bike path before dark - last night was a nightmare!
Today my underwear fell to my ankles as I walked to the parking garage elevator from my parking space. I stepped out of them, wadded them up and dropped them in the trash can by the elevator. There were witnesses. Several. I rode a very silent elevator to the ground floor. I suspect at least one of the witnesses, an older male, will be in a high level meeting I have this afternoon. #MyLifeStory
Last night I got a late start for my evening walk, it's been raining buckets here in Columbus (Ohio) and the bike path I walk on, along side of a beautiful river, was flooded in places. It was darker than normal due to the storm clouds and I kind of missed the sun actually going down so it felt like it went from stormy dark to black in a matter of minutes. The paved path has limited entry points so I had about a mile to walk in the pitch dark, feeling for the pavement. I've spent a lot of time in the woods at night so I was OK, but of course in a major city you aren't as worried about a rouge racoon or a pack of coyotes as you are about Freddy Krueger. I had occasional lightning to help me see, but when I finally go to the turn off of the trail, I was wading through water that was almost to my knees. That's when the storm started back up with a vengeance, the water started moving cross ways to the path and lightning and thunder got way too close for comfort. Clearly I made it home fine but OMG I was feeling pretty stupid for taking such a chance! Also, city water overflow GROSS to think of all the nasty that was probably in that rain runoff!!!
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

You made me laugh with your unexpected loss of undergarments! Yes, I imagine that was a rather uncomfortable elevator ride! Scary about finding your way out in the dark with the water rising! Glad you are safe! You look great!
OMG Yes! You are living life like a rock star. Flinging panties and walking on...

Great photos, and you remind me of someone and I have no idea who!
Too funny about the undies falling off, lol.
I'm so glad you made it off the trail safely. I got caught in the trail after dark once, but thankfully it wasn't raining, let alone flooding with lightening. Sounds scary!

Funny you should ask about my hair - I have it marked down on my calendar that this is the time frame when I should expect to see hair falling out. I've been taking the biotin and other supplements but I've also heard that for some people they won't help. My family has insanely thick hair, as in a whole lot of hair follicles per square inch. If I lose half of them, I'll just look like I have normal hair :) My hair looks thicker in the recent shot because I've gone without a trim for a few months and normally they would be thinning out the underside so it's not so poofy! If I end up losing a bunch it will be kinda cool to experience "normal" hair for the fist time in my life! That said, i know that losing hair means your body is hurting for protein and I certainly don't want to do any kind of damage to my old body... I hit the big 5 0 in a month so I need to think about doing things to HELP my body out!
