regretting this RNY so much
Please tell me this gets better. I'm a month out from my RNY and I am constantly nauseous, some days are better than others. Some days the smell of food just makes me want to throw up. It's like I don't even want food. I have to force myself to eat something even if it is just yogurt or soup. It just started happening a couple of weeks ago. I'm at a loss is this the way it will be for me my entire life or will this too pass. Please help!
It gets better... the smells have bugged a lot of us. I spent the first several months constantly getting things stuck, having the foamies, throwing up, etc... I didn't ever regret my surgery, but I did struggle.
As long as you're not having any surgical issues, right now you're brain is probably pretty pissed off that you're not shoving it's favorite foods in your mouth, so it's revolting by making you hate the smells... it'll get over it.
Hang in there! in 6 months, this will hopefully all be a distant memory for you!

I usually refer to what you're feeling as the "what the **** did I do to myself" phase.
I was ready to ask my doc for medical marijuana at one point. Hang in there and focus on your liquids and protein. If you're like most of us you probably ate well for a long time. Now it's time to give back to the food gods a little bit. You'll survive and your appetite will return soon enough.

Have you ever had a baby?
There's a point in pregnancy -- before you have the benefit of actually having a baby -- where a lot of us think: "WTF did I do to myself!! -- this is awful! Will I ever not be sick to my stomach, the size of a linebacker and unable to hold urine? Is the rest of my life basically gas, hemorrhoids and constant worry??"
WLS is like that. The first few months are like the worst part of pregnancy.
However, give it time. The results are like watching your 18 year old kid walk across the stage to graduate as valedictorian.

Lol I did yes and she's 13 now. I can admit to the holy **** I'm so big is it over yet, but I guess I was one of the lucky ones I was never sick a day with her. I never had another to test out the theory, but I'm pretty sure it would be a lot like this. I'm sure it will pass I guess I'm just in the whiny stage right now lol.

It's okay. You're allowed to whine. I have no doubt you are miserable right now, too.
Just know that it does get better.
(BTW, I never had morning sickness either.)
Drink a lot of fluids -- Susan's comment about dehydration is very accurate as well.

Coming here and asking for help is a great way to get through the bad and good days. Start thinking about what you will be able to do after you stop feeling like crap.
Kats idea of thinking is spot on. I can remember what the hell did I do to myself.
You will get better.
You are not whining. It is good to vent. It makes it easier to know you are not cookoo for cocoa puffs.
It does indeed get better.

"I am basically food's creepy ex-girlfriend. I know we can't be together anymore but I just want to spend time hanging out" ~me, about why I love cooking so much post WLS
Yes it will get better. Drinking fluids is important because that can cause nausea from the dehydration. I suffered a lot with nausea, as well as in the beginning what foods agree what food you don't agree. There's a lot of back-and-forth especially for six months over that kind of stuff. Then It seems to settle down.
I found TicTac's helped me with the nausea. The white peppermint ones. They're less than 2 cal each, and I would just let it melt in my mouth and that little bit of mint helped take the edge off.
It's OK to whine, stick around this place it will definitely help.
