What's on your menu today (Tuesday) RNYers?
on 7/11/17 7:45 am
Morning all~ Today is a warm one in the 80's and all week too. All these wild fires in my area are so sad....people losing everything....the skies are thick with smoke everywhere and it looks so ominous.
Accountability - I ended up eating shrimp scampi for dinner last night, it was so good! I need to throw that into my regular rotation. Scale up a pound today, still bloated and working through bathroom issues, but it's getting a tiny bit better. Hydrating like my life depends on it. Staying as active as I can.
QOTD - Pre op, I loved the regular vitamin water - dragon fruit flavor. Post op the diet 'zero' vitamin water one is just awful. The artificial sweetener is too bitter and funky and that goes for all the SF sport drinks for me.
After yesterday's QOTD re eggs, I went out and bought 2 dozen. It's all I can think about. I HB'd a mess of them and I'm craving scrambled eggs so bad, so that is what is for lunch and dinner today!
7 mo post op - 200.4 seriously?
b- coffee w/ heavy cream and splenda, sweet and spicy tea, water
l-HB egg w/cottage cheese - trying this out today!
d-scrambled eggs w/bagel spice
v/l on track
e-walking pups
Have a good day all

RNY 11/21/16 - HW/SW 309 LW 150
REVISION 4/10/23 - HW 240 SW 225 CW 164 GW 155
Morning! Sorry you have a nasty headache. Those are no fun.
I made beef barley soup last night in the Instant Pot. Oh man it is good. I made a few changes. I used low sodium beef broth and added mushrooms. I used a bone-in beef chuck roast to add more flavor. Highly recommend.
Accountability: I did terrible last night. We were feeling lazy and just sort of laid down in bed early to watch TV. We rarely do that but it was lovely...until the snacking started. My Guy fell asleep and I was watching my beloved cooking show Good Eats. Well...I ate some water crackers with cheese slices, several graham crackers and some pretzels. I wasn't hungry, they just tasted good. I felt fine....right up until I didn't. About an hour or so after I got super yucky feeling, sweaty, shaking, dizzy...the whole RH works. I knew right away that I had done it to myself. My blood sugar was 40. Wasn't even surprised. Had to chase that dragon for about an hour before I felt better. I ate a banana, a Greek yogurt, and took a glucose tablet. Uhg...I need to remember that is not worth it and not eat so many damn carbs. I still feel shaky and yucky this morning. No fun. Will do better today!
QOTD: Not really. I do drink mineral water, specifically Topo Chico, if I drink anything except coffee. 90% of what I drink though is coffee. Probably not good for me but there it is.
Menu: Low sugar Quaker oatmeal packet, 1/2 cup cherries; L: Beef barely soup; D: Shredded taco chicken, shredded cheese, salsa; S: Greek yogurt; ES: Peach
Have a great day everyone!

"I am basically food's creepy ex-girlfriend. I know we can't be together anymore but I just want to spend time hanging out" ~me, about why I love cooking so much post WLS
True true. Though I am not a Christian I find myself thinking of this verse often, Romans 7:19 "For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do - this I keep on doing." At least I know I am not alone in my failures and weaknesses. Bright side? Every new day, every new moment I have a new chance to do better. Most of the time I do better. I'll take grace for the rest.

So funny you bring up religion, as I've been doing some soul searching lately. I'm finding that most of the world's large religions have the same basic precepts. Right now I'm exploring Buddhism, because I'm looking for the calm assurance that mediation can bring.
It may sound blasphemous to some, but I believe in taking the good from all of them, and using it as a guideline for my life.
Hello,
Woke up to heat so ac is on.
Accountability had a ice cream cone. I was going for another but went to bed.
QOTD I don't usually drink them.
B egg mcmuffin

Good morning! Today is my official first doctor appointment checkup for my 6 month evaluation. It's with my endocrinologist, so I'll also find out how my a1c is doing after somewhat following along with my husband's RNY diet. I've already dropped one of my meds, hoping she will allow me to stop with meal time insulin, since I'm low-carb and not using enough to make it worth the needle poke (in my opinion!)
QOTD: nah. I occasionally use crystal light packets but even those seem too sweet and I only use half a packet per bottle most times.
breakfast/accountability: I stopped for gas and got a slice of gas station breakfast pizza. It's way yummier than it sounds, this particular chain of gas stations is "known for pizza." It was a bit of a food funeral, since I plan on majorly buckling down now that I'll officially be supervised.
Lunch: 1/2 C of homemade chicken salad, pickle spear
snack: Greek L&F yogurt
dinner: Chicken breast, ricotta, and spinach pinwheels. If I have enough talent to make them into pinwheels. Might end up being a chicken, ricotta, spinach HASH. ?
