Mornin' All!
I'm so bummed - I dropped my new laptop (the one I bought two weeks ago) last night and there are some small cracks at the top of the screen (at least it still seems to work fine - and the cracks right now aren't too noticeable, but I'm hoping they're not going to start extending down the screen...). I thought about putting a little electrical tape over them, but I'm not sure if that would keep them from "growing" or not - plus then they WILL look noticeable. Ugh. Really sick about this...
had my two-year check-in yesterday. The dietitian suggested I try adding more carbs. I'm already eating 100-150 grams a day. I thought she'd be fine with that, since it's a lot more than most WLS patients eat. Nope. I don't think I'm going to go up any more, though. What I'm doing works for me, so I'm hesitant to change anything. Everything else went great. Now hopefully my lab results will be good, too...
QOTD: I went through a phase a few years back (pre-surgery) where I drank a lot of G2, but I haven't had that in ages. None post-surgery. I drink mostly Crystal Light now.
Accountability: I had a meeting last night from 5:00-7:00. I should have had dinner beforehand, but I didn't. I got so hungry during the meeting that I had not one - but two - protein bars. Calorie-wise I was fine yesterday, but what a crappy choice for a dinner!
2 years 1 month out (maintenance):
B: homemade Greek yogurt with fresh raspberries
S: coffee with half & half, SF mango/vanilla/fresh mint protein shake
L: egg salad sandwich (egg salad is made with cottage cheese & bacon, bread is a Flatout FlipIt), nectarine
D: I guess I'd better make that steak tonight that I'd planned on making the last two nights, but didn't...
exercise: I need to! Never got around to it yesterday! I'll go to the gym - so probably stationary bike and either upper or lower body weight machines
OK I am shocked that a NUT would think 100-150 g carbs was too low for a weight-loss surgery patient. I mean if that number is working for you great, but I absolutely would not go higher. Face it this life is a delicate balance. When something starts not working for you then you change it.
I've done that not eaten when I should before something. That's why tonight I have a meeting in a while I may not eat my dinner there and I know I will have some salad, and probably a few strawberries because otherwise I won't make it. Because I won't get home till eight or 8:30 PM.
