What's on your menu today (Tuesday) RNYers?
Good morning menu crew! One more week to my surgeons appointment next Tuesday. Woop Woop! Hopefully all is good and I get this brace off and I get to drive again. Six weeks of no driving for this road warrior? Ack!
OK in the category of I've never done this before friend of mine invited me to a singles over 55 barbecue at her church. So I'm going to go with her Friday night. We will see what this is about. Not sure about this but what the heck... #lifeisanadventure
Accountability: for the most part I stuck to my menu yesterday, my girlfriend who pick me up for PT did bring me lunch but she knows I don't really do carbs so she brought me some salad and a few ribs. So I was OK with that. So my carbs came in at 40 and calories are at the higher range of my normal, so in a sense all OK. it's the mental thing right now I'm just not eating in an organized manner. I'm picking I'm snacking and yes it's the foods I can eat but again it's the mental game. I actually went to bed early just so I would stop eating. That was after I had my 2 tablespoons of peanut butter that I said I'd have, but added a sugar-free chocolate bar with that. The brain!
QOTD: I do have vitamin water zero, discovered it on a road trip, but I can't drink it straight up. It's like your cranberry juice Daisy I dilute it. It's funny I have a bunch of bottles and I haven't touch them in a while. And that's what I do is I go through phases.
B: 2 latte morning, both with fair life milk, and one with MCT oil and MiraLAX.
L: grilled chicken with TJ spinach kale artichoke dip and mozzarella melt
D: have a board meeting so will have some salad and strawberries there, whether I will actually have dinner there depends on the offerings. I insist they get salad and fruits, but who knows if it'll be a hero or whatever for the other stuff. If I don't when I get home I will have a piece of steak
S: iced coffee with vanilla Premier protein, protein drink TBD, 2 tablespoons peanut butter. I have been a little bit obsessed with the protein drinks, since I discovered adding xanthan gum makes it like softserve ice cream. Again it's a mental thing, it's not the calories it's the brain. Teaspoon of xanthan gum has 10 calories.
Ex: I am limited since I have been off official exercise. But I am faithfully doing my PT exercises at home. And trying to do some lower body stretching and my back, just because wearing this brace makes everything ache, and keep up some strength. I even got yelled at for walking too briskly because it makes my arm move too much.

I'll have to pick up some xanthan gum. I've added things like SF jello pudding mix, a tablespoon or two of avocado, or a scoop of coconut oil powder to my shakes to make them thicker and creamier -but I'm going to try the xanthan gum, too. For one, fewer calories than the others - plus it might make for an even better texture, it sounds like...
I love that you're going to that singles event! It's good to get out of our comfort zone sometimes! And who knows what will come of it.

Good Morning! It's another HOT day here in CA-very thankful for A/C. I am back at work today after being off last week and for dr appts yesterday (what a way to spend a vacation day!). My computer is in SLOW motion so I am trying to post here before I have to restart it.
Accountability: I ended up eating the second 1/2 of the low carb pita with PB and SF jam, I also had a 100 cal pack of cocoa roasted almonds
QOTD: Nope, I don't like any of them-they always seem too sweet to me (even pre-op). Hope your headache feels better.

D: Egg salad (1 boiled egg mixed with 1/4c low fat cottage cheese and bacon crumbles) inside ½ a low carb pita pocket, small green salad with Panera's poppy seed dressing and SF banana pudding made with Fairlife
