What's on your menu today (Photo Friday) RNYers?
Thanks Birdiegirl!
I know you believe you're absolutely 100% right on this, and that any logical person couldn't possibly see it any other way. For what it's worth I've changed up quite a bit of my "physician recommended" post surgery care to match the great advice I've gotten here, but yeah, I'm still having alcohol every couple of weeks.
I'm quite possibly wrong in my belief that this isn't an all or nothing requirement, but for what it's worth, I'm documenting all of it and being very open /transparent with my physician(s) about everything I take into my body.

The bariatric center where I had my surgery recommends no alcoholic beverages for the first year. My surgeon and I discussed my deep seated love of red wine and appreciation for a well crafted beer prior to my surgery. As part of the per-surgery diet I cut my alcohol intake from semiweekly to biweekly, and cut the quantity down to a few ounces per occasion. Beer is totally not worth it for me, but a 3.5 oz pour of a great red wine is, to me, worth the risk. My physician does not seem to believe that the occasional taste of beer and biweekly glass of red is a lock-step death-march to failure and doom, his greater concern has been about the very real increase in alcohol addiction that is associated with the RNY.

Happy Friday everybody! Daisy I love the picture of you and your beautiful dogs. I have a soft spot for labs. Today I'm trying to get organised... Never happen... Have a tendency toward major clutter...watch hoarders TV show periodically to scare myself into straightening up.

Have a nice weekend everyone!!!
Hey everyone!! Happy Friday! Only plans for the weekend in Sunday, celebrating my younger son turning 13.
Accountability: I needed to post today cause yesterday SUCKED. Had a giant cookies and two mini danishes at the law firm I was held captive at yesterday. Didn't finish my deposition till after 6pm and then got caught in accident traffic going home. Had a bad, bad headache so I skipped the gym. I was on a carb rampage which left me in a carb coma. Funny thing- by the time the headache went away and I came to my senses- it was 1am and I craved protein so I got up and ate the chicken wings hubby made for dinner. Yesterday was a series of atypical follies. Won;t promise it won't happen again- but I'm certain not for a long time!
200 today, 26 months out
M1: 2 boiled eggs, 2 turkey sausage
M2: greek yogurt & berries
M3: 3.5 ox bourbon chicken bites and 1/2c chicken corn chowder
M4: ?? Take out for sure I need to shop.

I've been thinking about an old 12 step saying. It's helping me.
If you sit long enough in a barber shop you're gonna get a haircut.
I'm pastry free since the ACAW and everyday it seems the tiniest bit easier.
I'm driving faster going by the bakeries.
I wish your work wasn't such a carbo wonderland. It makes it harder.
