What's on your menu today (Thursday) RNYers?
First time posting in the menu thread! I have to say that reading/stalking these threads have really helped me keep my head in the game. Husband had RNY 5/18/17, so hes about 7 weeks out, and Ive drastically modified my own diet since he started his journey. I'm about to begin my own 6 month evaluation for WLS (also leaning toward RNY)
QOTD: my twin brother and I both took lifeguarding courses in high school and learned CPR. We had a pool growing up, and often were in charge of our younger sister all day while mom was at work (single parent). She felt much better about us playing in the pool all day long knowing we could keep an eye on her.
breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs and 1 oz turkey sausage crumbles, sprinkle of cheddar
snack: 1/2 C lowfat cottage cheese
lunch: 2 oz deli turkey, 1 oz fancy coconut milk Gouda I bought on vacation
snack: Greek Light and Fit
dinner: marinated grilled chicken breast, spinach salad with cucumber and homemade balsamic vinaigrette
Accountability: I was planning to have chili last night for dinner but instead had a bariatric-friendly "shamrock shake" and two huge bowls of homemade vanilla yogurt and strawberries with a few hazelnuts. I rarely binge on junk food - my binges are usually on healthy foods, but still...ugh. Went about 100 kcal over my limit. I have got to stop this! My weight has been sitting at 142.4 the last couple of days - I want it back below 142!! I think part of it was that I was feeling kind of blue a big chunk of the day - not sure what the problem was, but I'm feeling much better today.
QOTD: I've been CPR and first aid certified in the past, but haven't been in a long time. I really should do it again, because you never know when you're going to need it.
2 years 1 month out (maintenance):
B: homemade Greek yogurt with 2 T pomegranate seeds
S: coffee with half & half, SF coconut protein shake
L: chili with cheese
D: meeting a friend at a Thai place. Something safe....
probably another yogurt somewhere in there....or else some hummus with baby carrots
Happy Friday-Eve! It's going to be HOT here today too and even hotter this weekend. I'm not a fan of the heat, so yes very thankful for A/C.
QOTD: I do not know CPR- I've thought about getting certified when they have offered it at work-maybe next time.
Menu: B: latte, eggbeaters, turkey sausage links and 1/2 an orange L: I'm thinking Panera strawberry salad but it depends if I decide to go out S: latte, Buddig meat pack, granola and yogurt D: TBD
E: got in my 6 mile run this morning
W/V on track
I hope everyone has a great day!
Hi Daisy and menu friends. I am not feeling well, Doc is trying to narrow things down by testing. Not sure if it's bypass related, abd/pelvic Ct scan tomorrow. Solid intake varies, fluids always 80+ ounces. Accountability???? No cheats but sometimes protein is low...

Hello!
QOTD-
Yes! I was an RN on a women's and children's unit before I was a homeschooling mom, so I was certified in All The Things, lol. Basic CPR, ACLS, NALS, PALS (that's all basically advanced, neonatal and pediatric cpr). That was years ago. I'm sure I could still do CPR but no one push a crash cart on me. Rather like Daisy says, most of my actual CPR experience involved calling a code and staying the hell out of the way once the code team got there, though I did do some delivery room resuscitation.
B- I made a quiche like thing with a sweet potato crust, kale and turkey sausage inside. I had some nausea yesterday and still feel kind of ooky today, so it's on the counter and I'm pecking at it. It will be breakfast and lunch I think. I thought I ate lunch too fast and that's why I felt bad, but my son was also nauseous last night, so maybe we are fighting off a bug?
Dinner- these greek meat kabobs made with ground beef, and few bites leftover casserole I made for the fourth with yellow squash.
I dont' think I'll need a snack, but if I do I'll have a rolled up turkey slice with a laughing cow inside. Hot tea as needed. :)

Good Afternoon Daisy and friends!
Accountability: Yesterday was a small pouch day. I ended up with just the breakfast RTD protein shake, a banana on the way home from work, and another protein drink after my (still sadly slow) run.
QOTD: I work for a healthcare system and even though I am not part of patient care they want us to all re-certify annually.
