What's on your menu today (Wednesday) RNYers?
Thanks for asking Teena! He took it well and was just concerned about who could take on my work. He knew DH has Alzheimer's, so it wasn't a complete surprise.

Good morning :)
I have a doctor's appointment this morning and then soccer tonight. I'm not in nearly good enough shape to be playing soccer with these ladies.
Yesterday I ended up going out and weeding a garden area that we tend to ignore -- it's behind our shed so we don't really see it. I decided that I want to try growing raspberries there because the people who had this house before us planted raspberries but in a bad spot. Of course I did this during the hottest part of the day. But I got four stems moved over. Hopefully they will take :)
Accountability: DH went to DQ last night so I had a couple bites of ice cream. I had a relatively small pouch day, but ended up eating a rice cake with peanut butter last night before bed.
QOTD: I still remember my childhood phone number. We still had seven digit dialing when I was a kid. I was just thinking I had a cellphone when I was a teenager, but I don't remember that number. We also have a house phone now that was included in our bundle and I have no idea what the number is...
Breakfast - protein shake
Snack - egg, pickles
Lunch - turkey pepperette
Snack - Greek yogurt
Dinner - ham, cheese
Snack - protein shake
All water and vits.
QOTD: doing this first as sometimes I seem to forget. I still remember my childhood phone number as well as my dad's work number from when I was child. My dad's work number had letters in the beginning not even numbers from when you use the letters on the rotary dial. Gosh I'm old! He had his own business and I remember one of the exciting things when I went to his job with him was sharpening pencils with the electric Pencil sharpener. It was a new cool tool.
Kids iand grandkids left yesterday. It was definitely what I needed to get through this hump called surgery. Tomorrow's four weeks, two more weeks to go with this brace and not driving.
Since I think we should share the good the bad and the ugly, I will share my idiot moment from yesterday lest you think we all do things perfectly around here. I made gingerbread banana bread on Monday night, so Tuesday morning my son and family could eat it for breakfast and then take it on the plane with them, and have something to go. I've made it before and I know they love it. Well yesterday morning I drank coffee and had two pieces between 7 and 8 AM, and as I was eating it I was thinking this is not really a good idea, but I guess we'll see in a couple hours. So at 10 AM like clockwork, I had a RH or reactive hypoglycemia episode, shaking sweats nausea dizzy. I ate, I got past it. I haven't had one in a while, and I'm not as sensitive as some people are...but sometimes the denial runs deep so the reminder. Don't do that. Eating straight carbs, without any protein to be seen-- pretty much an idiot moment.
B: latte w/fairlife/mct oil/miralax scrambled eggs and cheese
L: Cobb salad- bacon, turkey, egg cheese
D: chicken tbd, green beans
S: cheese crisps, protein drink tbd, cottage cheese or yogurt with blueberries (snacks optional)

Sorry this happened but glad you are feeling better. I actually had a similar incident on Monday! A coworker's wife made banana nut muffins. They were home made, no frosting or anything, she had lap-band and he had RNY so I figured they were low sugar fairly healthy. I asked the coworker and he just shrugged and said, "They are just muffins, I can eat them no problem." So... I had one a breakfast with my yogurt. HA!! Tricked ya. I had the worst dumping I have had in at least 6 months. I got the early dump of the terrible diarrhea and nausea/heaves. Then about an hour and a half later broke into a sweat, shaking, dizzy...uhg. It was a miserable thing. Stuck at work the whole time...lovely.
It was a good reminder that I eat the way I do because it is what my body needs me to do. I had gotten a little ****y and thought I wouldn't need to be so controlled because I am getting closer to 2 years and haven't had the run-to-the-bathroom problems in a long while. "I can eat like normal people now...just smaller amounts and health conscious that's all." NOPE! No letting my guard down anymore.

Morning everyone! I had a fun day off yesterday visiting with friends. I ate lots of fruit and cheese and have no idea on numbers but I am up 3 pounds this morning! Whaaa? I also haven't gone potty so I think these are actually related. Cheese seems to be causing me to get backed up lately, I might need to cut down on that. :( I am at work today with my breakfast and lunch packed so it should be a fine day.
Menu: The usual; Greek yogurt, an apple, frozen beef pasta thingy for lunch, dinner is going to be a burger with no bun, if I snack I have bananas. Feeling bloated and not hungry at all.
QOTD: I can't even remember my numbers now. I know my cell and my Guy's...beyond that...clueless. I've had the same work number and work fax number for almost 7 years and I look it up every time I need it. Numbers are not my gig.
Have a great day!

That is my hope! It is weird the way my body changes now. For the first year things felt like every thing changed daily. I never knew what I could eat without having a weird reaction. It was like aiming for a moving target. Over the next six months things seemed to settle down and I felt like I had a good handle on how things were, a new norm if you will. Now I am noticing that things really are still changing but they are changing much slower. I have to watch more carefully and look for correlations and changes. The first year after surgery, no constipation, I didn't take a stool softener or really understand what everyone was on about with the poo-troubles. Second year...totally different. I can eat more fruit types than before but strangely less volume than six months ago. Cheese was a go to, always tolerated and tasty. Now...my body is different and I guess I need to change it up. Plus in the last few months I have developed the hypoglycemic issues in a new and exciting way. Every time I think I have figured myself out...this new body goes off in a different direction. Not frustrated or upset by it...just find it all fascinating.

I feel like I have my own personal human experiment going on... on me. I try not to change more than one thing at a time and stick with it for a week or two to see if it makes a difference in whatever is bothering me. Tryed going off cheese but it made no difference

All those research and stats classes are paying off now! Single variable controlled experiment. I think the confounding variable is this crazy body...she keeps changing variables that I don't know about just to keep me on my toes. LOL Results are not generalizable!
