Upper Stomach Pain

I am 9 weeks post op from RNY. This morning, from the time I woke up I was experiencing sharp stabbing pain in the upper area of my abdomen that would not go away. I walked around hunched over, nothing seemed to relieve it. I went to the gym, hoping the moving around would help ,but it didn't. I tried eating a few bites of eggs this morning, but could not fini****; had some cottage cheese for lunch, just trying to keep the protein in for the day. I slept for a few hours this afternoon hoping to sleep it off. Although it has subsided from this morning, I still feel a dull achiness in the same area. Any ideas of what this could be? It doesn't feel like acid reflux to me. i had not even eaten since 7 the night before. I'm not naseous, just the pain. Anything that may relieve this uncomfortableness? Does this warrant a call to the dr. I have an appointment already set up on the 12th.

yes, call your dr. See my response to the post below this one, regarding internal hernias, and see if the symtoms are similar

Your description of pain that doesn't go away reminds of a gallbladder attack.

I'd definitely call the doctor; pain is a signal that something is not right. Better safe than sorry. Good luck.
