Low carbs, no glutens or 100% whole grain?
I have no issues with gluten just being lactose intolerant. The only carbs I have are the beans (taken with an enzyme pill) in my homemade chili and Greek or Icelandic yogurt taken with lactaid pills. I eat veggies, but not starchy ones. I'm not even tempted by carbs such as pasta and bread.
I just had my six month checkup with surgeon and NUT. Ive lost 110% of my excess weight. Close to my personal goal.
I used to eat tons of brown rice in stir fry dishes. Plus other grains. All that and all the junk made me fat and my diabetes worse. I'm not tempting fate. I'll stick with what is working for me now.

I've only been in maintenance for 7 months (at my current weight). I spent time figuring out what my calorie limit is (about 1300). I try to maximize protein and minimize carbs within that calorie limit so I tend to stay away from breads/grains most of the time but I will eat them in moderation periodically. I also don't always stay completely within my calorie limit, but try to average out there.
The #1 thing that I think is working best for me which I never did in the past is weighing daily. I have about a 3 pound range I feel comfortable in. If I'm near the top of it, I'm going to try to stay away from carb/calorie dense foods. If I am closer to the bottom, I'm not as restrictive.
I hope this helps?
