What's on your Menu today (Photo Friday) RNYers?

I'm late to the party today -- we decided to skip Michigan and go to Niagara Falls instead. So we were up early and out the door.

Accountability: I had three Timbits (donut holes) on the way here, so I'm already off plan. Then I decided I wanted to go to Olive Garden for lunch since I had never been. Today is a write-off.

QOTD: I'm okay with names and faces, but once a name is in my memory it's there for a long time. I can still remember some names from elementary school.

The photo today is of my puppy -- he is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. This photo was the morning of our wedding. He was outside watching us set everything up.

Breakfast - cheese stick

Snack - Timbits

Lunch - Olive Garden

Snack - probably nothing

Dinner - TBD

Snack - protein shake

All water and vits.

Your pup is adorable! Hope you had fun in Niagara Falls. My parents were there on the weekend. They just dropped my niece off at home in Mississauga, and now have a 10 hour drive home to the North, lol.

too many things that were unknown yesterday morning when I originally posted that my menu turned out quite a bit different than planned, but I still did OK calorie-wise. Yesterday afternoon I attended a tea with a group visiting from Japan (some of whom I'd either met in Japan or had stayed at my house years ago), and they had this huge spread. I knew I was going to dinner with a friend afterward, so I ate two grilled shrimp, 2 cubes of pineapple, 12 almonds, and an individual-sized bag of "Skinny Pop" (which I made last through the whole tea - one kernel at a time).

I later had dinner with my friend from Turkey. She wanted Mexican food since it's hard to find in Turkey, so we went to one of those hole-in-the-wall taquerias with good, cheap food (like $2 tacos). I had two tacos.

I also had a protein bar that I hadn't counted on because I didn't want to go to the tea famished - but still, even with that, too, I still stayed within my calorie range.

Feeling really bloated today, though. Must have been the sodium from the cottage cheese I had for lunch and the tacos (??)

QOTD: I am terrible with names, and I'm even getting to be bad with faces. I think it's all the public service jobs I've worked over the years - I come in contact with jillions of people. Which means jillions of faces. It's really embarrassing when someone remembers me, and I can't for the life of me remember them...or where I knew them from!

2 years out:

B: Triple Zero coconut yogurt, raspberries

S: protein shake, coffee with half & half

L: 1 C cottage cheese

AS: might finish off my last cup of cottage cheese as I'm afraid I'll forget to take it home over the long weekend. Plus I'll be wanting to have an afternoon snack anyway to keep me from blowing it at a dinner out tonight

D: first of two dinners (second is tomorrow night) with some of my student staffers from the 1980s. I'll have something safe for sure!

I may have missed it-- how was Hillary's speech??

aslo, my hubby recently started working for the Philly Library. He is programmer by title, but is doing more research analyst work, determining what types of programming the library should pursue.

she was fantastic! I was expecting her a do a canned speech with a few tweaks here and there to make it relevant to libraries, but no - that speech was written just for us! Someone really did their research! She made everyone I talked to feel so great about what we were doing and how important we were to kids, communities, democracy, etc. It also made me sad to realize what might have been. She would have been such a completely different president than the one we have. So knowledgeable and well-read and competent. It makes me sad to think about what might have been...

I hope your husband ends up enjoying working at the library. Even before Hillary's speech, I always felt good about working in one. It's a noble calling - and so many people like their public libraries. I always feel good about telling people I work at a library when they ask...

Hi guys,

Another rainy day here too. I hope it will stop by tomorrow, for Canada Day (Happy 150 Canada!).

Accountability: Yesterday I didn't do well; I ate fewer than 330 calories and didn't hit my protein goals; I'll have to do better today. For exercise, I warmed up with some bowling and table tennis, then got into some zombie killing...on my old Xbox kinect. I had a blast, and fighting zombies really works up a sweat and gets the heart racing, lol. It's the sort of game where you have to bend over to pick up weapons, then slash or jab with them and even kick the zombies away. You have to duck under obstacles, etc.; so it's very active for a video game, lol. I am looking forward to sunshine again though, so I can return to my bike riding.

QOTD: I suck at remembering names of people, but never forget the name of dogs if I meet them in person. It was embarrassing because I used to walk my dogs and run into people and their dogs repeatedly, and I could always greet the dogs by name but never their owners, lol. I do remember children's names too, but I think it's because I was a teacher for so long. I guess it's only the adult humans I forget...weird!

5 months post op RNY and down just over 95 Lbs today...soooo close to my 100 Lb loss.

Breakfast: 2 decaf coffees with 160 ml protein shake as whitener. 1 babybel lite cheese.

Lunch: Pepperette, Babybel lite cheese, zucchini chips (home made). I had planned on having yogurt and blueberries but decided to save it for later.

Supper: Possibly shrimp, or left over beef.

Snack: Greek yogurt with fresh blueberries. Possibly some jerky.

The photo is of some beef jerky and zucchini chips I made in my new dehydrator.

Dog people are always just known by their dog's name aren't they?

I've been Lucy's mom for a while.

That's so cute! It doesn't happen like that here; other dog walkers always remembered my name and I only remembered their dogs, lol.

Hi all! I jumped on a million times today intending to post, but got distracted a million and one times.

Qotd: I'm ok with names, I'm super glad firefighters wear uniforms with name badges-- makes it easier. I remember their 'story' sooner than thier name. I.e. I'll recall when they were hired/promoted/went out sick etc. I have better recall of the six thousand or so employees I've dealt with over my career than I do of my next door neighbor's name!

accountabilty: did well yesterday- was at 59 carbs of my 55 goal. Someone gave me smarties for my birthday-- so those have been my nemesis of late. Today was ok, too, most of my carbs were fruit carbs- which I don't beat myself up over.

200# today, 26 months out

m1: 75g banana 2 boiled eggs 2 squares cheddar

m2: a pear, 3.5oz bourbon chicken chunks

m3: 4.3oz ground beef with taco seasoning sour cream & salsa

m4: 5.5oz beef spaghetti sauce with ricotta & mozzarella

unplanned: protein bar & 2 leftover pancakes the kids didn't eat this AM. (And they still sit like bricks!-- I'll never learn!)

pic today: my sister and I before we saw Wicked last week:
