Good morning! Yes the weekend is almost here! I am back from vacation, working today (from home), then I have 5 days off again (nice way to ease back). We got home very late last night then I didn't sleep well for the 5.5 hours I was in bed but I'll be super busy today so it should go fast. I am telling my boss today that I am retiring at the end of the year. I have been planning it for almost a year, but hadn't told them in case something changed. Now it is time. It will give them an opportunity to decide if they want to do anything different to plan for when I leave or if they decide to downsize in my rank as part of the current reorganization maybe they will let me go earlier. I suspect that my boss won't be surprised, but we will see.

QOTD: Well there is the nut-job who has accused all of her former male managers of sexual harassment (never substantiated), then decided to go after me (also formerly her manager). First I was accused of "stalking" her in the bathroom. That one made me laugh because I had to admit that I did use the bathroom periodically and it was possible she was in there when I did from time to time, but I have better things to do other than stalking her. Then she would act like she didn't see me when I walked by (would put her head down and have a sour look on her face). Once by mistake, I went around the corner and we were face to face. Since I don't like being rude (unlike her) I said Hi and that I hoped things were going well. She reported to HR that I had accosted her and was yelling at her! Of course, it again wasn't substantiated, but still makes me crazy. I'm just supposed to avoid her! HR says that their "no-retaliation" clause gives her an unlimited ability to report unsubstantiated perceived wrongs against her. I think this is crazy too! Well enough on that. So much more I could say about her!

Accountability: Okay yesterday - 3 protein bars while traveling which is not good but there really wasn't much choice (11 hours of travel from the time we left the resort until we got home and you can't bring food through customs other than pre-packaged stuff from the US). I used my own scale this morning for the first time in 18 days and I only gained 1.75 pounds, so I am still in my comfort range!!! I do want to do a few days of CAMAW though to get of the carb craving (I did eat way more carbs than usual while on vacation).

B: eggbeaters and cottage cheese

L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

D: grilled chicken

S: Greek yogurt

Oh how I love HR and their willingness to let insane people keep their jobs.

I actually work with a former HR person and she's a major pain in the derrière. Constantly adding her unwanted 2 cents into every conversation.

Good morning menu folks! The summer heat is here. This morning it's not super humid but that is coming this weekend. I am disappointed because it will be harder for me to get in my walks with the extreme heat. I will still have my pool time but I will need to figure out other ways to exercise as well.

Today I think I will go to lunchtime yoga class at work. I've only gone once before, but I enjoyed it and would like to go again. Also deep water aerobics tonight so I will get in some exercise even with the heat.

QOTD: I work in a cube farm and I hear every conversation and cough from a large room full of people. Most of them are relatively considerate, but I long for an office with a door to close when I'm trying to concentrate. Oh well, the only way to get an office is to take a job that I don't want, so I just wear headphones and ear plugs when it gets bad.

Breakfast: scrambled eggs, turkey sausage patty

Snack: Ice Tea protein shake

Lunch: TJ's Vera Cruz swai

Snack: 2 oz turkey breast

Dinner: chicken breast, broccoli

Exercise: short walk, yoga, water aerobics
